    Potions Group D
    #1
    David had never judged such a competition before, and he was mildly curious to see how this would go. "The first potion you will be brewing will be Draught of Peace," he announced. "You'll find instructions have been provided. Please begin."

    You have 72 hours to post the completion of your potion. Your character finishes in the order posted—first to complete gets a +1 bonus!

    Being raised by Mariana Macnair had its advantages: Tatiana had felt confident entering into a higher level of the competition than many of her fellow debs would, and she worked diligently and quietly upon the task at hand. Satisfied that her potion was as good as it was likely to get, the witch raised her hand, smugly taking note that her fellow participants had not yet finished their own brews.

    Having worked as an Intern to Healing for almost a year, one would think this would second nature to Pauline, but she felt far to nervous, like her career rested on how well she did. It wasn't true, of course, but she couldn't help feeling that way. Slightly distracted, she set about making the potion and raised her hand upon completing it.

    Phyllida was a fairly confident potion brewer and as such she had entered herself in the competition and not even in the novice tier! Upon reflection, she had realized the reason she was more confident brewing potions now than she had been at school was because she only brewed potions she needed in her day to day life and most were ones she was so familiar with she could brew them blindfolded. Anything new was another matter.

    A Draught of Peace certainly wasn't one of the potions she found herself regularly making. Oh well. She did her best and raised her hand when the questionable contents of her cauldron looked to be as good as they were going to get.

    Mason hadn't competed in a Potion Brewing Competition since this summer's win at the World's Fair, but he wasn't going to let that go to his head!  A Draught Of Peace seemed straightforward enough, he hoped anyway.

    It was with careful precision and concentration that Mason worked methodically and perhaps a bit more slowly than he should have, as he noticed that all of the ladies in his group had already finished. Whoops. He passed the moderator a nod when complete and awaited judging.

    I am legit the worst, so sorry >.>

    All of the efforts were rather good, David noted, though the consistency seemed to be off with two of the potions. A good effort. "Miss Lestrange and Mr. Skeeter will be moving on." He gestured for the other two to move away. "Your next potion will be a Love Potion Antidote. Please begin."

    Tatiana = 11, Pauline = 8, Phyllida = 8, Mason = 10

    Tatiana did her best not to let her pride show. For one, it countered her carefully crafted image of demure debutante, and for another, she shouldn’t have felt proud at all. She should have felt shame if she had failed, but this should have been an easy task for her. With barely the hint of a smile, the witch began grafting her second potion, raising a confident hand when finished.

    Well! Maybe his lucky streak was continuing! Mason nodded as the second potion was announced and as soon as they were able, he got to work. Again, he was not the swiftest of competitors, but he was methodical and precise- or so he hoped. Mason watched Miss Lestrange raise her hand out of the corner of his eye and worked a few minutes more before raising his.

    Well, that was that for this round!

    Well, MIss Lestrange's efforts were certainly... unfortunate. When David looked more closely at the potion, it appeared to be decidedly more solid than it ought to have been. That made things easy. "Mr. Skeeter is the winner and will be moving on!"

    Tatiana = 7, Mason = 11
