Saoirse had just finished attending a rehearsal at the theater and was heading back to her flat. It was a day like any other for her. A bit boring, if she was being completely honest. There never seemed much to do besides work.

Wondering if she should head out and play in a park somewhere or something for the fun of it, her attention was diverted by the sound of a carriage rumbling by - with the person in front of her very much in danger of being struck down!

Moving quickly, Sai pulled them back just in time for the worse thing to hit the person to be snow. "That was a close one, are you all right?" She asked, even as she looked around for the violin case she had dropped in favor of stopping the other person.

Bundled against the cold, Reed moved quickly through the streets. He had been cooped up in his office all day, and was relishing the cool night air... though fresh air wasn't really applicable there in the city, it was doing wonders to help him wake up so therefore he wasn't choosing the option of simple apparation. He carried a briefcase in one hand and held his newest script in the other. A new writer hoping to work for him had submitted a script to his office, and Reed was impressed with the story though thought it could use a thorough editing.

He had been very engrossed in the script in his hands, and hadn't at all noticed he'd stepped into the street at the worst possible second.

He was shocked as the carriage thundered past him, just inches from his face, and he turned, startled, to the woman who had held him back from death... or at least close to it. "Good lord," he started, using his father's rather mild expression in the moment without realizing it, "You may have just saved my life."
Standing a bit numbly in the street, he watched her search for something. Had she dropped something.

A case. Tipped over behind him. He quickly shifted the script to the hand holding the briefcase and bent down to pick it up and hold it out to her.

If the situation hadn't been so dire, Saoirse might have almost laughed at the mans expression. As it was though, there wasn't a thing humorous about what had just happened. "Must have been quite an interesting read," she commented when she realized that had been what had the man so distracted.

"Oh, thank you," Saoirse said in relief as he held her violin case out to her. "Be kind of hard to perform any music without that." And that would make her unemployed which would be the worse thing to happen. Aside from being run over by a carriage, that was. "Are you sure you're all right?" She asked since the man had seemed to be in a bit of a state of shock just moments earlier.

Somewhere in the back of his mind, a small voice was telling him that he was in shock, but at the moment he was rather dumbfounded with his inability to think about anything productive, and he quite forgot what he was holding in his hand, especially after the woman’s instrument changed hands and he was left holding his hand out, completely empty.

But she was commented on something being quite a read… he looked at the manuscript offhand, only registering it’s presence after staring at it for some time. “Oh yes! Quite interesting. A hopeful new writer for my theatre.” He was not usually one to babble to strangers. “Do you,” he gestured to the instrument case, now safe in her arms. “Do you play locally…? Unless the case is a clever disguise for something more nefarious.”

In his shock, he forgot his perfectly calculated smile, and so his joke might have come off as completely serious.

Saoirse eyed the man in concern. Perhaps he should sit down somewhere, maybe get a warm drink. It wasn't everyday that one almost met their end so it was quite understandable, really. She looked suitably impressed as he revealed himself to own a theatre.

Saoirse blinked at what she soon assumed was a joke before chuckling. "I do, indeed. I'm a violinist. I play for one of the local London theatres."

"Marvellous. The violin is one of my favourites." He was certainly babbling. He never talked this much to strangers. In fact, he wasn't exactly in a right mind, or he would never have thrown out the next question. "A muggle theatre?"

Having actually no clue if she were a witch or not. But it was too late when he realised what he'd said, and he was fairly certain she was beginning to think he was a lunatic. Really, he wasn't being himself. If he were being himself, the fact she might be a witch wouldn't have even crossed his mind unless she were carrying a wand or wearing something particularly strange. Having been raised in, and now a business owner in the muggle world, his first thoughts were not usually inclined towards magic.

Ah, a fellow wizard! Saoirse wasn't too shocked considering they weren't too far off from one of the several magical side streets that London held. Even so, she had to guess the shock of his ordeal was making him a little careless. She looked around to make sure no one was paying them attention before daring to speak herself.

"Yes, sir. For now. I've been looking into theatres owned by magical folk but haven't had much luck." There was always the de Montefault one in Hogsmeade but Saoirse would prefer a company that was within the same town she lived in.
