Pauline Ebba Woodcroft
November 18, 1867
7th year Hogwarts student
Residence: Hogsmeade, Bartonburg
hazel, 11'', sturdy, dragon heartstring
Andrew Woodcroft (father)
though she doesn't act all that fond of her father around many, when she's at home she shows just how much of a Daddy's girl she is. She's always had a closer relationship with her father than their other family members. She's more open with her thoughts when it's just them holding a discussion with no one else around.
Ameila Woodcroft (mother)
Still close to her mother, though not as open about her thoughts, she rarely says what she really thinks when her mother tries to help her make a decision that could impact her life in a ways one would have never imagined.
Hudson Woodcroft (older brother)
The impact of her brother getting into an argument with her father and the results forcing her to choose, has left a bitter taste to his name. Once they were closer than most siblings and she was torn when choosing between her brother and her father. It was a choice she didn't want to make, but reluctantly made one. She had become good at acting, though when the acted feeling became a reality... she couldn't say. She loved her brother, would have done anything for him, but instead let her sense of loss turn into loathing
Emmeline Woodcroft (younger sister)
They are still close, sort of. They can tolerate each other but it's not as close as she'd like them to be. Ebba can feel the tension that is just waiting for a time when little fights and the occasional mean comment won't help in the slightest. Though they seem like they're close at first glance, it only takes an insignificant spark to start a fight between them.
Not quiet as pale as her sister, she has a bit more color to her skin tone, but not much. Her eyes are a dark brown that never holds what emotion she truly feels. Her hair is a little past her waist, after taking a shower anyways. With the slight curl, it comes just a bit above her waist. Her hair is rarely seen free, she always has it in a french braid (at least when she's getting ready for bed [at Hogwarts]) or in some elegant fashion on top of her head. When she's at home she doesn't bother with the french braid going to bed and just leaves it down.
She can write and cast spells with both hands and she sometimes switches without realising it but usually catches herself before anyone can comment on the usage of her left hand. She's always with the fashion and rarely uses any accessories or outfits after they've gone out. She eats just enough to be at a healthy weight but not gain.
She doesn't mind the height she is-- 5 foot 3, though she'd found it difficult growing up where she'd always been the shortest out of everyone else in her year.
Pauline Ebba Woodcroft is the second child born to Andrew and Ameila Woodcroft
Younger sister is born, and she (at almost three years old) promises to protect her sister as long as she can.
Older brother goes off to Hogwarts. The (almost) five year old begs him to take her with her and is gently told, by both him and their parents, that her turn will come soon enough.
A man she barely knows, her grandfather, dies of unknown causes. This causes her family to be relocated to a place called Hogsmead. Like her sister, she was expected to pick up piano. She grudgingly learned the art; along with painting, dancing, french, and violin. There was little time for her to think about anything other than the skills she was expected to learn.
Once she gets her acceptance letter, she is thrilled. She'd finally be able to get a pet... not that her brother hadn't let her take care of his pet during the summers... there was just something about having a pet that she
chose and not someone else. She knew what she she couldn't bring with her, but she wanted a puppy that seemed to be calling her name. While she wanted the puppy, her parents gently reminded her that she couldn't take it and they wouldn't be taking care of her pet during the school year. She, instead, got a snowshoe kitten whom she promptly named snowfall.
Once arriving at Hogwarts, she was sorted into Gryffindor.
The years seemed to have flown by for Pauline and before she knew it, her sister's birthday had come, and past, and Emmy was turning 12 and
starting her first year! Pauline was starting her third year! She was beyond excited when Emmy had been sorted into the Gryffindor house. She had almost jumped up in joy and ran to hug her sister. Only the phantom voice of their mother had managed to keep her firmly in her place.
After much consideration, Pauline decides that she wants to become a Healer and proceeds to choose her OWL courses accordingly. She had already been taking most of the courses (since they where core)
. Finishing up her fifth year of Hogwarts, she stresses about her OWLS and what score she'd receive. When Emmy fell siick, she'd fretted that she'd have to watch all of her family slowly wither away, like so many other families. Even with her brother's comfort, they'd been the only two to not get ill. That left a burden on their shoulders, or her bother's. She was prepared to not to return to Hogwarts for her sixth year, if the plague continued to torment her family. By some miracle, however, her family seems to recover after they get a share of the plague's cure. In the middle of all this, she'd recieved her OWL scores, though she hadn't opened them until well into August
With this slightly disappointing set of scores (she expects nothing less than all O's), she wanted to change what profession she was going to go into, but after a long chat with her brother, he managed to convince her that they where still good enough to get her into the NEWT classes required to get her internship. After going over her options, she decided to try out Alchemy. She'd probably not go very far in it, anyways. She sent in her course list; Transfiguration, Herbology, Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Alchemy, Care of Magical Creatures, and Potions.
1885. Pauline wasn't sure she'd made the right choice. While she's managed to pass all of her courses, she wasn't sure they'd been the grades she'd wanted. She was starting to doubt the Sorting Hat's decision to sort her into Gryffindor. If she really was brave and fearless like her house's traits suggested, then surely she would have laughed the stress of possibly falling just short of her end goal.
She cringed at her father and brother's fallout and wished it had never happened. She let her brother think she was angry at him; let everyone believe she hated him for the rift caused in their family... but she wasn't... not until the reality of everything hit and she realised she was alone, that she was now the oldest of the claimed children-- even if Hudson was never 'disowned'. With her seventh, and final, year on coming up, she couldn't dwell on her lost brother-- her first, and only, best friend.
Pauline chooses to take the same courses she did in 6th year for her 7th year courses.
. Pauline sits her NEWTs, graduates from Hogwarts, and starts her internship at Hogsmeade Hospital.
Pauline is one to hold things in, to not let others see what is really bothering her. She puts on a facade that rarely falls out of place. She forces herself to be out going and smile when all she wants to do is curl up in a corner and die. She excels at playing the piano and violin and she's sure she could pick up any other skill fairly quickly. She can have a warped sense of humor when it comes to the people she considers 'friends', though even they don't know what her real personality is.
She has a lot of self doubt that is, sometimes, self loathing, but seems to bulldoze right though those feelings. She also has a hope that almost seems childish at some points. She has a tenancy to over react to small things and not react at all to life changing situations. She's stubborn and won't back down for anyone.

"Brother?" she whispered softly as she nudged him. It was 1884 and everyone seemed to be sick. Her heart had started to beat wildly when it looked like he had fallen ill too. She couldn't take care of their family alone! He had to stay healthy, she could get sick if it had to be one of them.
It didn't have to happen, however, and the twenty-four year old stirred and she couldn't hide the relief she felt. He wasn't ill. No matter how many times they told each other the other needed to rest so they wouldn't get the plague as well, they stubbornly refused and pushed themselves until this happened and they ended up sleeping on the floor with their backs against the wall.
It wasn't a comfortable position, though she could deal with it if it meant her family would be healthy again.
"I'm fine, Ebba." he replied back, sensing his sister's worry. Ebba had been the only name she'd replied to as a child, so that's what her family called her if she wasn't in trouble. When they called her Pauline she just knew she'd done sometime wrong.
It was one of those rare times where her hair was just in a loose braid and she was surprised to find that she liked having it down but still out of her face.
"What is going to happen to them?" she finally asked after a few minutes, turning her head slightly to look her brother in the eyes.
"They'll recover." he replied confidently. "We're a strong family, we've probably gone through worse."
