    Souri Avninder

    Full Name: Souri Mojan Avninder
    Nicknames: Sue or Ree.
    Birthdate: April, 7, 1866
    Current Age: 21
    Occupation: Cook at Hog’s Head
    Reputation: 3
    Residence: Pennyworth, Hogsmeade
Hogwarts House: Ravenclaw, left after fifth year
Wand: Chestnut, unicorn hair, 12 ½ inches, springy
    Blood Status: Halfblood

  • Pargol Avninder, mother (deceased)
  • Narmin Avninder, great aunt
  • Rory O'Leary, father
  • Sinead O'Leary, aunt
  • Eveleen O'Leary, cousin
Souri stands at five feet, six inches, quite tall for a woman. She's slender, with a few curves that mark her as a fully grown woman. Her skin is a rich brown tone that darkens slightly during the summer months. The sharp set of her jaw combined with large eyes, a doll-like nose, and full, bow shaped lips give her a unique look that isn't easily forgotten. When it isn't tied up in a bun, Souri's face is framed by a thick curtain of long, wavy, black hair. Outside of work, the salwar kameez and sari are staples of her limited wardrobe. The few items she owns are kept as clean and tidy as possible. She's ambidextrous, but prefers to use her wand with her left hand and write with her right.
1865| After carrying on an illicit affair with a charming Irishman for several months, Pargol Avninder, the daughter of middle class merchants who'd immigrated to England from southern India, found out that she was pregnant. She begged Rory to marry her, but he refused and disappeared soon after. Pargol hid her pregnancy for as long as possible, but revealing her condition to her parents proved to be an unpleasant inevitability. They were disgusted and mortified by her behavior, but couldn't stomach the thought of putting her out while she was still pregnant. They restricted her movements to the house until her due date.

1866| Pargol went into labor on the 6th of April. The labor was long, difficult, and extremely painful. Souri was born in the early morning hours of April 7th and her mother died soon afterwards due to internal hemorrhaging. Her parents were both saddened and enraged by the situation she'd left them in. Nothing could replace their youngest daughter in their hearts. They turned their anger on baby Souri and decided that the job of raising her needed to be passed onto someone else.

1869| After three years, Souri's grandparents found a substitute guardian in one of Pargol's aunts. Narmin was a childless widow who lived in Birmingham, hours away from central London where Souri had been born. She'd spent many years alone and still longed for a child of her own. Because her child bearing years were far behind her, taking Souri in was the next best thing. Narmin had been close enough to her niece that, despite the circumstances of her great niece's birth, she was willing to take Souri in. In early May, her grandparents took her up to the Midlands, left her there, and didn't look back.

1873| When Souri is seven years old, increasingly strange things begin happening around her. Narmin grows concerned and, in her search for an explanation, she turns to the letters Souri's mother sent her during her pregnancy. Souri's father was mentioned by name in one of them. Using that and some other details, Narmin goes to great lengths to contact him.

1876| Souri's father, Rory, turned up at Narmin's front door three years later in the middle of the night. He learned of Pargol's fate and met his daughter for the first time. Rory and Narmin have a long conversation about Souri and her future. The years made him more mature and willing to take responsibility for his actions. He'd never told Pargol that he was a wizard, leaving her family clueless as to what might happen when Souri got older and started displaying her magical abilities. He wanted to give her a chance at being a part of the wizarding world; it was her birth right, after all.  Rory made arrangements to pay for her schooling at Hogwarts. She would go there during the year and return to her great aunt's home at holidays.

1877| Souri received her Hogwarts letter and was sent off to school in September. She was sorted into Ravenclaw.
1882| After putting Souri through five years at Hogwarts, Rory was no longer able to afford her schooling. She left school with decent O.W.L results (her most notable scores were in Potions and Herbology) and, instead of returning to Birmingham, moved into her father's home in Hogsmeade.

1885| After working a series of odd jobs, Souri found more stable employment as a cook at the Hog's Head.  Her interests as a cook are more exotic, but she knows the traditional English dishes like the back of her hand. She tries to experiment with the menu a bit more than she ought to.

1886| Souri and her father move to the newest neighborhood in Hogsmeade, Pennyworth, in the last days of August.

1887| Souri remains a cook at the Hog's Head, though her growing sense of ambition makes the job less and less satisfying as time wears on.

    Sample Roleplay Post:
His wife was a bitch. And, for once, Cassidy wasn't thinking that to be vindictive or petty - it was just a fact. He'd made the mistake of marrying a bitch and it was hell. Everything she did was irritating, so much so that Cassidy could barely stand to be around her. Avoiding the house was easy most of the time - he did have music to work on, after all. When he couldn't do that though, he stormed in, making the place a mess and locking himself in his room to smoke copious amounts of weed. Getting his hands on it wasn't always easy, so when he bought, he bought in bulk. Without it, living with Alix would be a thousand times more unbearable. Plus, he had a good little side business going selling to people who were too paranoid to go to an actual dealer themselves. All in all, he owed drugs an awful lot.

That day, he'd left for the studio not long after waking up. A quick shower, a change of clothes, and he was off. His band mates weren't coming in until later, so he got the studio and attached lounge mostly to himself for the morning. He blasted his favorite playlist while writing up some potential lyrics for the new track they were working on. There was no rush to get a new album out as they'd dropped their first one and they hadn't yet figured out when they were going on tour. But, when it came to his music, Cassidy was ridiculously responsible, always looking to the future to make sure they were prepared.

After spending most of the day working diligently, Cassidy decided that he might as well go home for a bit of a break. Smoking would give him a few hours of relaxation. After that, he'd pop over to the studio and spend as much of the night as he could with the boys. When Cassidy returned, he found his house cleaner than it'd ever been and was immediately suspicious. Alix never did anything like this. Never. Something must be up. Narrowing his eyes, Sid called out for her. "Alix? You here? I think someone's broken in and cleaned the house."
