Queen Victoria was known for putting jackets and dresses on her pups, causing clothing for dogs to become so popular that fashion houses for just dog clothes started popping up all over Paris. — Fox
It would be easy to assume that Evangeline came to the Lady Morgana only to pick fights. That wasn't true at all. They also had very good biscuits.

IC Slytherin Quidditch Tryouts '88
#1
September 9th, 1888, before lunch — Hogwarts Quidditch Pitch
If Kristoffer was going to accomplish one thing this year - one thing beyond Wreaking Vengeance on everyone he had promised to - it was winning the Quidditch Cup.

While he was confident in the team he already had, however, he was much less enthused by this gaggle of new recruits. "I've got room for two chasers and a keeper," Kris explained with folded arms, after he had introduced himself, "but, I warn you now, I won't have any weak links on my team. I'll only take the best."

"Keepers will be taking their turn at these hoops. You'll be shot at ten times each by current members of the team and any potential chasers we have here, after they get through a passing drill from the other end of the pitch to this side. I'll be letting out the bludgers to do as they please - though Bones and I aren't going to be swooping in to save you, so if you see one coming, you'd better dodge."

Might as well make it match conditions, after all. "Before you take your positions at either end of the pitch," he added as he picked up his broom, a nonchalant afterthought, "I want three laps of the pitch from all of you." Kristoffer paused, scrutinising the turnout skeptically. "Five laps for first years and girls," he amended. "Now move."

Leah did not like Kristoffer Lestrange, nor did she wish to be on his team. But she did not hate Kristoffer Lestrange - not yet - and that was precisely why she was here: if he'd been threatening Prudence, she needed a firsthand experience to solidify her own hatred for him. (And if she made the team, it would make terrorizing him - likely from afar and without it being traced back to her - all that much easier.)

The first strike against his character was when he demanded she, along with the other ladies and the first years, did more laps than the boys. Leah considered herself equal to men, but his demands seemed to go against societal expectations completely! Was he looking to make fools of them? Or was it a secret message that he had no intention to let them on the team despite making them work nearly twice as hard as their older, male counterparts?

With her life curled and a quiet scoff under her breath, Leah mounter her broom and did the required laps. It was better than having to run, she supposed, but the wind on her skin nearly burned after a while. Fortunately the summer air was stiller than the spring and not as crispy as the winter air.

Still, the chill on her nose was evident when she landed. She was already grumpy.

Then came the actual tryouts, and Leah opted to try for keeper before anything else. It would likely give her poor nose a break, and assuming the prospective chasers lacked tactical skill, she might make it out without a bruise.

Once the trial was over, she landed back on the ground, every hair out of place and her eyes narrowed at whatever - or whoever - she could focus her eyes on. Dammit, now she had to do chaser trials.

Gwen did not mind either position, though her small, light frame made her very fast. She was annoyed by having to do so many laps, but she swallowed her annoyance and set to it, completing the laps with as much speed and efficiency as she could.

Once that was done she set herself to the first trial, as keeper.

As soon as it was over, she landed quickly and softly, preparing herself for the chaser trials to come.

Keeper. Ugh. It only took a few minutes in the skies to figure out that she'd rather be pelted with Lestrange's insults than quaffles, but like anyone who was attempting to sabotage tryouts for the sake of her friend, Leah persisted.

On top of a bunch of children pelting her with balls, she also had to deal with bludgers - and Lestrange had been serious when he said he and Bones had not intention of saving them. She secretly hoped that one might go rouge, that Lestrange might later find himself in hot water for jinxing them to attack students he didn't want on his team.

But alas, she survived. It was almost disappointing.

Trying out for chaser proved easier when it came down to it. She found humor in pelting the keepers - many of whom were throwing quaffles her way moments ago - and so she made sure to laugh the entire trial with the hopes that Lestrange was watching. If she was laughing, maybe he'd get pissed of thinking she wasn't taking it seriously.

Once she finished her trial, she returned to the ground, fully intending to run off and find Pru.

Sirius would much rather be trying out for seeker, but he could always do that in a few years, and was totally confident that he could beat these girls. Besides that, Kristoffer was cool and he wanted to impress him. He did his five laps with confidence, if it was possible to imbue laps with confidence, and, for his first tryout, tried for chaser. The quaffle wasn't difficult, even if it wasn't his favorite - but dodging bludgers was something new. He had never actually done that with Thom's equipment before.

His second tryout was for Keeper. Sirius settled on his new broomstick and was determined once again to be Cool and Awesome and Impressive. He couldn't wait to tell Rex about this, but it was going to be way better to tell him if he actually got a position. But surely he would! He had never actually not gotten something before.
