Charming is a Victorian Era Harry Potter roleplay set primarily in the village of Hogsmeade, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and the non-canon village of Irvingly. Characters of all classes, both magical and muggle — and even non-human! — are welcome.

With a member driven story line, monthly games and events, and a friendly and drama-free community focused on quality over quantity, the only thing you can be sure of is fun!

Member run events — a guide
Member Run Events - A Guide

Member-run events are an important aspect of Charming's community. If you're looking to make one, then you've come to the right place!

Events without forums are not required to be as unique or inclusive and may not always result in threads. Consider it a way of announcing that your character is holding an event so that other people may refer to it IC or actually post attendance.
These events are likely to be:
• Balls.
• Exclusive events i.e. a social event for UCPB ladies.
• Weddings.
• Funerals.
For your event to qualify for it's own forum, your event must be considered board/site wide which means that at least five member groups need to be able to actively participate in it (this will also get you your plotting mastermind stamp). Keep in mind, the main reason for having a sub-forum for your event is to keep the main forum from becoming cluttered by a large number of event threads.

If you want to hold a large event that is likely to garner a lot of IC interest as well as OOC interest and require a forum of it's own, you're best to think of something unique that appeals to a wide range of characters.
For example:
• Events targeted at Middle Class and/or Lower Class characters.
• Political events. (ex. a garden party to discuss communism)
• Sporting events. (ex. a tennis tournament)
• Charity events. (ex. a fundraising luncheon)
• Seasonal events. (ex. a Guy Fawkes themed event in November)
If you have event ideas you want to share, we have a thread for suggestions.

Getting Your Event Listed

Instead of PMing your event details to a member of staff, you need only reply to the monthly calendar thread with the form found below. Your event will then be added to the calendar. This also applies to requesting events with forums.

It is perfectly acceptable to have multiple events on one day, though two events for the same group of people will obviously end up in competition with each other. It is not advisable to arrange a forum event for the same day another is scheduled and your event may not be granted a forum as a result of this.

What: What is your event? Just the name here, please! Any additional information should go below "When".
Who: Who is it for/who is hosting it? Who is invited?
Where: Where will it be taking place?
Why: Self explanatory.
When: IC Date (If you want a forum please post at least a week in advance).
Forum: Does your event need a forum?
