    Zachary Podmore
    In Character
    Full Name: Zachary Henry Podmore
    Nicknames: Zach/Zak/Zac
    Birthdate: October 8th, 1859
    Current Age: 25
    Occupation: Entrepreneur; Prospective Zoo Owner
    Residence: Irvingly
    Hogwarts House: Hufflepuff
Wand: Holly, 13 1/2", swishy, unicorn tail hair
    Blood Status: Pure
    Social Class: Upper
❈ The most famous family member, is of course Sir Patrick Delaney-Podmore, the ‘head’ of the Headless Hunt. He’s someone's great x a lot uncle, knighted for saving some king from getting gored whilst out hunting in ‘friendlier’ times. Only not much friendlier, because he ended up beheaded.

    Henry Podmore [1807] Father
Henry is pretty sure his son is a little soft in the head, but spends too much time at the club to really care, so long as he doesn’t squander his inheritance.
    Adelaide Podmore [1836] Mother
Probably the person the family gets their slight eccentricity from, Adelaide is very much a lady and loves her luxuries. She thinks having a zebra carriage is amazing and rides in it everywhere, even if they’re just visiting a neighbour’s down the road.
    Elena ---- [1858] Sister
Ellie has a rather exuberant personality and is never short of anything to say. She has her husband wrapped around her finger and definitely wears the trousers in the marriage.
    Errol Podmore [1862] Brother
Highly practical but with a tendency to get distracted, Errol has some form of a job that pays him well enough to have moved out, but nobody is quite sure what it is. Including him. It’s something in an office though, and he gets to use a stamp to sign letters which he likes.
    Jemima Podmore [1866] Sister
Jemima and Zach have never gotten on super well. She’s rather material and convinced she’s going to be the next big socialite- once she secures a match! She’s not above, however, using Zach’s animals to impress other upper class people, much to his chagrin, but mainly dismisses them as ‘dirty’.
Scot and ‘Will’ (Wilfred) Podmore [1868] Brothers
Twins, totally identical down to the last hair and with seemingly boundless energy. They’re pretty much inseparable and super inquisitive and nosy and remind Zach a lot of a pair of marmosets. -ONE FOR EMMA
    Henrietta Podmore [1870]
Hattie has the same energy of the twins, but adores animals. She thinks having pretty much her own private menagerie is the bee’s knees and obviously takes COMC. -RESERVED FOR ROO
Far too tanned to be accepted by fashionable dandies, Zach takes it merely as a reminder of his travels, along with his slightly overgrown curly hair and rather thick eyebrows. He has the brown hair to match and being right handed and standing at 5’6”, if it weren’t for his slightly dishevelled look he would be totally unremarkable save for comments about his tan. Unless he’s going out he’ll be found in loose trousers and an untucked shirt, and is highly muscled from his travels.
1859 Zach is born the second child to his parents. Ada- who was frankly rather startled the first time she gave birth- is less convinced shes given birth to a gnome, much to the relief of the midwife
1862 Errol is born, and as with most older siblings Zach isn’t that keen on sharing the attention of his father, though he’s gifted a picture book on the animals of the rainforest- that he still has to this day- and cheers up considerably.
1864 Zach begins lessons- at last! He’s instantly disappointed he won’t be learning about animals.
1866 Jemima is born and this time Zach doesn’t get a new book, though sulks long enough to persuade his father to take him to a lecture by a magizoologist at the museum.
1867 Zach shows his first sign of magic, healing a little dormouse the cook’s cat had dragged in. He keeps the mammal for a few weeks before releasing it again.
1868 Twins are born- Zach can’t tell them apart (and still can’t, really) but he gets an entire set of new biology books to make up for that inconvenience.
1870 Hattie is born and Zach gets an owl, which is like the best present yet.
1871 Zach is almost twelve by the time he goes to Hogwarts, and is sorted into Hufflepuff. His father initially doesn’t take this seriously, believing his son doesn’t have a practical bone in his body and is only good as daydreaming about being a magizoologist, although Zach knows he doesn’t have the academic ability to do so.
1875-6 Zach is passed over for prefect after he’s caught in the forbidden forest trying to see a unicorn.
1877 Shit hits the fan. The family move to Hogsmeade to be safe.
1878 Zach leaves school and decides to volunteer at the museum to stop himself getting bored, having had no real reason to work.
1879 Finding the museum rather boring, his father pays for him to head abroad on a magical grand tour. The main motive it to get him out of the house after Ada complained he was making the parlour look untidy, though he also hopes it might get his son past his obsession with magical creatures.
1881 Still travelling, Zac ends up in Egypt and hears of a phoenix roosting on a mountain nearby. It takes him a good three weeks to find the bird, and then two and a half months to gain its trust, but eventually he domesticates it and dubs it Icarus.
1882 Icarus comes in very useful when his tears heal a man who had been gored whilst out hunting. The chief of the tribe Zac and some other travelling men are staying with gives him a pair of zebra, who Zac ships to france to have them broken to carriage and saddle before sending them to his parents. Henry is bewildered but Ada convinces him they are very fashionable, and so the two (Salt and Pepper) are stabled nearby.
1883 Various misadventures result in Zac expanding his menagerie to include a niffler, several plimpies, a firecrab and two domesticated knarls. He’s quite at loss of what to do with them, so elects to keep them with him, which makes getting through customs rather interesting.
1884 PLAGUE FIRE BRIMSTONE DOOM. The family’s home is lost and they move to Irvingly. The smaller town allows them to purchase a large house and garden with mews for the zebra, and Henry brings Zac back to Scotland after purchasing a large parcel of land he intends his son to build a home on on the outskirts of the town. He is surprised at the number of ‘companions’ that come with his son, and even more shocked when his son announces that instead of building a home, he wishes to build a small Zoological gardens to protect creatures. Henry takes to his bed with hysteria for a few days, whilst the youngest kids think it’s like the best thing EVER. He employs an architect to draw up plans for the gardens, with a large glass exhibition hall for the smaller animals, reptiles and birds, and neatly hedged paddocks interspersed with gardens for the larger ones, as well as a small gatehouse also containing a shop and cafe. Of course, being Zac he has no idea about the logistics of any of this, but with his father’s sort-of-backing and several animals, he’s ready to have a go!
1885 By 1885, the zoo is not only open, but thriving. The exhibits slowly begin to fill up, and even Zak's father is forced to admit he had underestimated his son's vision.
1886 By now employing several other magizoologists from around the globe,
the zoo begins to gain more rescue cases through various contacts.
1887 With the reconciliation with the Queen approaching, Zak begins to wonder if there's a potential to begin sharing the magical creatures with the muggles of Irvingly.
A definite dreamer, Zac has the confidence and creativity to actually make sure his ideas go ahead- much to the bewilderment of most people, as he most definitely isn’t practical. Most financial and legal affairs are left to his father- rather luckily- for Zac has dyslexia and struggles to take in information, though he is artistically gifted and rather ingenious at coming up with solutions to problems. He often has a distant dream but isn’t as interested in the process of actually achieving it.
