Did You Know?
Queen Victoria was known for putting jackets and dresses on her pups, causing clothing for dogs to become so popular that fashion houses for just dog clothes started popping up all over Paris. — Fox
It would be easy to assume that Evangeline came to the Lady Morgana only to pick fights. That wasn't true at all. They also had very good biscuits.

Ugh if he wasn't the most stubborn...

A flicker of annoyance crossed her face, but not much could displace the worry. His attempt at a rebuttal of her use of his first name was weak at best and Febs was not going to be dissuaded from the real point here. Not now, determined as he may be to derail her, he needed someone to actually take a look at him. "I'll call you Your Majesty if it gets you to let me go get a healer." She countered without thinking. She was thinking about how she could get out of the room without him yanking on her arm again or realistically upsetting him any further.

"I know you don't like accepting help, but you can't take care of this like you did your hands. A trained professional needs to assess the situation." Febby started to pull her hands away and move off the bed; she wasn't going to wait around for permission forever.

Though seeing her leave—and even more, having to potentially deal with the grump healer again—wasn't the most desirable option, he respected her free will enough to silently release her hand. She quickly left, and Edric was left alone in the hospital room, pondering over the explanation he was about to give to whoever tended to him.

Moments later, a healer—the same healer as before—returned without Miss Lynch. Edric tried to glance around him, but the bouncing brunette was nowhere in sight.

"Has she left?" he asked quietly.

"Yes." he replied evenly without breaking stride.  "I advised she go home."  He had made sure she had a means to do so but left it at that.  He was not her chaperone and he did not have time to escort her.  Not only did he have a patient to see to, he apparently also had a healer to write up for skiving off and leaving the waiting room to become a den of iniquity.

"Do you recall the curse that hit you?"  he asked the cursory questions.  He doubted this was anything remarkable but any sort of visual or auditory clues could point him in the right direction.  Still he began a series of diagnostic spells that were so familiar to him they were muscle memory to him.

He was disappointed, though upon second thought figured it was for the best; this was the same man who had caught them in an incriminating position, no matter how innocent it had actually bee. His biggest worry was that she'd go home, get punished, and never speak to him again—he didn't like his feelings being toyed with like that.

"It was loud in the room; I doubt a sonorous spell would have made it audible in that moment," he explained, his body bracing for more pain as diagnostic spells were cast in his direction.

"Did she- I mean, did anyone make sure she got home safely?"

"She assured me she could apperate home safely."   He said with mild distraction, watching closely as what ever curse afflicted the man reacted to his spellwork. He reached out with his left hand in a vain effort to amplify his perception of the magic at play.  He was good at what he did but the method he was attempting required an extreme aptitude that he just barely flirted with.

"Her departure was uneventful." He thought to add after a moment.  He tried a few reversal spells with little affect before inspiration struck.  changing his approach after a few moments he got what was left to lift and undo most of the internal damage that had been done.

"You should feel some relief now." he holstered his wand and crossed his arms, still watching for residual effects.  "It is my opinion that you were hit with an improperly cast hex Mr. -"

He wasn't sure what spell had hit him, but decided knowing at this moment would likely only give him a deeper sense of anxiety. Besides, the healer had said he'd feel relief, so everything couldn't be that bad.

"Umbridge. Auror Edric Umbridge," he answered, unsure of the extent the hospital had gotten on him since his arrival. Had Miss Lynch even gotten them information on him? He hadn't been paying attention.

"What do you expect my outlook is? Short-term, long-term—anything."

"Auror Umbridge"  he acknowledged pensively.  "I've lifted it and reversed what I could but due to the incomplete nature of its casting its impossible to know the full ramifications.  Its even possible that it was merely a provisional spell."  He hated when people got creative.  the invention of spells should be left to professionals.  Or at least people with more than 3 years of schooling.  "You should report it to your superiors and ideally, if your assailant is apprehended, we can get a more complete picture of things."  He wouldn't tell the Auror office how to do their jobs but if there was a newly invented curse out there it seemed wise to investigate it.

"As for the girl"  he hedged, his brow falling into a familiar furrow.  "Marry her if honor or duty requires but know... they only get older and shriller." He did not care to advise him further. The girl should know better and, being older than killian, Mr. Umbridge should have been capable of making his own decisions.

Edric tried to swallow down what the healer was saying, but all he'd gotten from it was "I really don't know what the fuck hit you, but I'm pretty sure it won't kill you long-term". Great. He opened his mouth to speak, but much like before, the healer continued before he could manage a word.

And boy did he have nerve.

"Marry her?" Edric gasped, nearly choking on air. "I-I have no idea what would give you the impression that I had that plan. She's not- we didn't-." (He doubted Miss Lynch could get much shriller, anyways.)

Killian's face was fixed in a doubtful expression.  "I know you were not intending to insult my intelligence and so I will not insult yours by reminding you that she has the most to loose in this scenario."

Having said his piece Killian was more than ready to be done with this case.  "Someone will be in shortly to gather your details.  If you experience any new or worsening symptoms you should return to the Hospital immediately."

Edric didn't think she had much to lose—at least with that one situation. He didn't imagine she went running around in her nightgown with mysterious men on a regular basis, and if he needed to he'd swear on veritaserum that she was still virtuous if need be. Not that he had any spare moment to explain it; the healer had once again continued speaking without giving him a chance to refute his thinly-veiled accusation.

"Fine, fine," he muttered, clearly irritated by the exchange. He was glad this would soon be over.
