Did you know?

First names were most often used by childhood or school friends. If the friendship was made after school age, first names would only really be used by women. Men were far more likely to refer to their friends by their surnames, a mark of familiarity. — Documentation

WANTED:

Carson Bixby for Sloane Bixby. You can take the middle-aged man out of quidd—oh, apparently you can't.
Separating was also not a great idea, though they weren't doing great at staying together anyway. If she were to volunteer to be the human sacrifice.. well... Hogsmeade had plenty of debutantes anyway...

Hello, there! My name's Bree and welcome to my post logs! Here I'll track my threads, post counts, and anything else I need remember about my characters! I'm best known for my passion for walruses, my undying hatred for Florida (which, unfortunately, is where I was born and raised), and my ungodly sleep schedule. I joined charming when I was a wee fifteen-year-old leaving her freshman year of high school, and now I'm just a grumpy young adult.

Bella Scrimgeour
GRYFFINDOR ALUMNA ('87) | REBELLIOUS | CYNICAL

Born to riches, raised in rags, and then returned to riches in the months before her twelfth birthday, emotional stability has never been a factor in Bella's life. Resentment towards her biological family clouded much of the magic that Hogwarts would usually bring to a child raised by muggles, and it only continued into her adulthood. A series of unfortunate events—some caused by her own failings and some out of her control—led to her to flee her family and cast herself into the working class. Now without a family or a job, Bella continues to search for the stability she's never been fortunate enough to have.

Handsome Whitledge
GRYFFINDOR ALUMNUS ('88) | ATHLETIC | FRIENDLY

Born the eldest son in a family that was frequently side-eyed for their unusual, eccentric names, Handsome grew up with a relatively normal childhood. The Whitledge family moved to Hogsmeade alongside much of the magical population, and stayed there until Handsome's father passed away in 1884 during the Laughing Plague. Things would only manage to go downhill from there; Handsome's mother became distant after pursuing her lifelong dream of becoming a healer, leaving teenage Handsome to corral his five sisters.

Then, when she passed away in 1887, shit hit the fan—drama filled the Whitledge household, in part due to their sudden loss and in part in reaction to the ongoing events in the magical community. Handsome turned to less healthy coping mechanisms for dealing with his stress, though was able to clean himself up after being appointed Head Boy at Hogwarts. The Whitledges went to live with their grandmother in Hogsmeade for the time being, as teenage Handsome was not yet in a position to receive his inheritance, nor to be responsible for his sisters.

Following graduation, shit decided to hit the fan once more. Handsome's grandmother was killed in a hit-and-run carriage accident, Handsome ruined one of his close friendships, the quidditch league was temporarily suspended due to magic-inhibiting fog, and he turned to alcohol once more—though this time was much less subtle about it.

SLYTHERIN ALUMNUS ('70) | WORRISOME | CONTROLLING

After his mother abandoned the family to run off with a lover when he was merely two years old, Edric was left in the care of his generally-caring-but-notably-distant father who refused to remarry out of fear of making the same mistake he made with his first wife. As such, his childhood was characterized by a constant fear of abandonment, difficulty connecting with people, and grouchiness. He adjusted his attitude to join the Auror Training Program, and spent fourteen years on the field before being promoted to Head Auror in June of 1888—and in the middle of a crisis!
