Ari Ajax Fisk
Ari's short enough that it doesn't need a nickname, but he's always put up with anything his siblings or friends saw fit to christen him without complaint.

- At a respectable 5’8, Ari is a little taller than average, if not quite as tall as a few of his younger brothers. He has never been athletic enough to gain any real muscle, so his slightly stocky stature merely comes from his naturally broad-shouldered build. He has blue-grey eyes, his mother’s dark hair and mostly his father’s facial features, and he used to be quite self-conscious of his smile - he’s always thought it’s looked quite obviously forced, or else rather daft - and it was never much helpful towards being taken seriously, but he’s since given in and gotten over that. He does try to keep smart and tidy, and his day-to-day clothes tend to be well-made, if a little plain. Ari is right-handed.
- 1851 - Ari is born, the first child and son to Brannon and Delia Fisk. Delia’s husband isn’t especially keen on her proposed name scheme, but accepts Ajax - from the Iliad - as Ari’s middle name.
1853 - Ari is two when he gets a younger brother (the first of many), Julian.
1854 - Katia is born.
1857 - Ellis Konstantin is born. Ari, now six, spends much of his day reading, or else playing in the garden.
1859 - Marlena is born. Ari shows his first sign of magic in the midst of trying to rescue a stray kitten from a shed roof. Although he loses his footing and falls, both he and the kitten make it safely to the ground, the falling slates seeming to bounce straight off a protective bubble around them. He requests that he keep the kitten.
1861 - The twins arrive, and by now Ari is a typical big brother. He has always been well-behaved, and is happy enough in the company of his younger siblings, though tends to act as mediator and keep them all in line if he has to. Some of them are certainly adventurous and more feisty than he.
1862 - Ari is the first of the Fisk children off to Hogwarts. He’s excited, more than anything, though does write home diligently all year, and does miss his siblings after a while. Ari had imagined he might be put in Ravenclaw like his mother, but the Hat places him in Hufflepuff. Friendly and tolerant, making friends isn’t an ordeal.
1863 - 1868 - Dorian, Nemo and Zelda eventually join the Fisk family.
With some studious tendencies, Ari tutors a classmate or two when he can, and makes some good friends. His responsible nature sees him in good stead for Hufflepuff Prefect, and though his parents had never put a wild amount of pressure on him to make them proud, Ari can’t help trying.
In his fifth year, boys have long since started murmuring about girls and somehow Ari finds himself in a situation with a girl in the year below. He kisses her because he thinks that’s what she’s waiting for - it seems like the thing to do - but he is underwhelmed, and decides not to bother with that again. Luckily, being a prefect is always the perfect excuse to evade any potential less-than-proper situations, and that is what he does.
The thought comes back to him, quite out of the blue, during class one day the next year, with his gaze absentmindedly on a male classmate. They’re friends, he supposes, but what he feels isn’t quite friendship. And he can’t stop feeling it. Though perturbed, he keeps that confusion to himself and absolutely doesn’t act on his feelings. (He spends the rest of his time at school resolutely ignoring those kind of feelings whenever they crop up.)
He’s not overly fond of heights, so flying makes him feel quite queasy, and quidditch is never really an option. He likes to watch it, though, and finally learning to Apparate is more than enough of a method of transportation. Classes are where he excels best, and he has a natural affinity for Herbology, Potions and Charms. Though not naturally gifted in the other subjects he continues for his NEWTs - Transfiguration and DADA - the effort he puts in sees him through with admirable results. It is enough to qualify him for Healer training at the hospital, which has gradually become his favoured option of a career.
1869 - After graduation, he interns at St. Mungos in the Potions and Plant Poisoning Department, and becomes a full healer after that. He doesn’t have any express ambitions or expectations of climbing the hospital ladder, and is perfectly happy where he is.
1877 - 1884 - Ari transfers to the Hogsmeade branch of the hospital, and has saved up enough to buy a modest house of his own in Bartonburg. He makes a circle of good friends in Hogsmeade and keeps up with the rest of the family as best he can, and work occupies him the rest of the time. Every once in a while he brings home another stray. Though he still feels resurgences of those odd feelings, and really, has accidentally fallen into the habit of always harbouring feelings for close friends or coworkers - always male - he conditions himself against acting on them, and instead watches men his age start courting and getting engaged (or merely frequent brothels) without any trace of motivation to do the same. (His mother’s visibly tiring of this, he knows, but he doesn’t see that there’s anything much he can do.)
