Queen Victoria was known for putting jackets and dresses on her pups, causing clothing for dogs to become so popular that fashion houses for just dog clothes started popping up all over Paris. — Fox
It would be easy to assume that Evangeline came to the Lady Morgana only to pick fights. That wasn't true at all. They also had very good biscuits.

Charles nodded as she answered, her emphasis on the word ‘need’ made it abundantly clear how important her future was. It was all he needed to know. He reached out and brushed a strand over hair over her ears with a soft smile. He then leaned back and spoke with a slightly playful – though sincere – tone, “A promotion,” he chuckled slightly and then his tone turned serious, “but regarding this? I want you to finish school and start on that career working with animals.”

There was a moments pause then as Charles reflected on what that meant. He got on with her extremely well but she was still in school. They were not betrothed and they were both working class. They had to be practical. Whatever he felt on the matter, he was not going to be the reason she fails her schooling or work prospects – and he would not allow her to fail for any other reason.

He then bit the inside of his lip, “And I won’t leave. I’ll be here. I can wait for whatever is going to happen.”

Emmeline nodded and smiled. They seemed to be on the same page. That was good. There wouldn't be any misunderstandings. At least, not in regards to what she intended with her future. She had goals, that much was clear and he seemed to be ok with that.

"So we'll see where things are this time next year then?" she said in a questioning sort of tone, a look of wariness still in her eyes.

Returning her smile with one of his own, Charles stood up and ran brushed his thumb against her cheek gently before looking toward the door, “we will,” Charles took a step toward the door, “And it will be good things, I’m sure. But I ought to go home. I can’t have gossip starting.”

Charles smirked and turned on the balls of his feet to face Emmeline once again, his back against the doorframe, “make sure you write me.”
