Victorians could hire 'professional mourners' to attend their loved one's funeral. These people would partake in the procession and were not allowed to speak, just look awfully sad! — Rune

Kristoffer was going to be great at this, because he was great at everything. Also his memory was greater than everyone else's, because he bet no one else had ever lost their virginity somewhere exotic like Morocco. Hell, he bet no one else had even lost their virginity. Inexperienced losers.

May Day Mishaps
May 1st, 1888 - May Day Event
Amelia Evans

Well wasn't this quite the little street party. Eugene hadn't exactly meant to walk into the festivities, but on his lunch break from work he'd decided to run into the alley and do a couple errands just to get out of the ministry itself. Eugene didn't sit well; paperwork was his arch nemesis and when he was stuck in the office all day he was stir crazy by lunch- hence the walk.

What he hadn't expected was the apparent May Day celebration going on. There were people walking around passing out flower crowns, of which he'd just narrowly avoided having a spirited little (and he meant little brunette) toss a ring of orange flowers on his head. As comfortable as he was in his masculinity, he was not about to go walking around with flowers on his head. Plus he was still in his ministry robes and that required some kind of professionalism to his appearance. Some kind anyway.

There appeared to be quite the choices for lunch as well and as his stomach rumbled loudly, Eugene realized food should probably be the first thing on his to-do list. Maybe his errands could wait until tomorrow too, this looked like it could be fun. Someone handed him a pamphlet on an 8-hour work day and Eugene admitted it had promise, so he flipped it open to skim it. He probably should have stopped walking but honestly he was letting his feet take him toward the Cauldron of their own accord. Just as he lowered the pamphlet, he came across a pretty pair of mismatched eyes, just short of running into their owner.

“We could be heroes, just for one day.”
