Did you know?

First names were most often used by childhood or school friends. If the friendship was made after school age, first names would only really be used by women. Men were far more likely to refer to their friends by their surnames, a mark of familiarity. — Documentation

WANTED:

Emilia Wright for Jude Wright. Casually alienating offspring since 18882.
Separating was also not a great idea, though they weren't doing great at staying together anyway. If she were to volunteer to be the human sacrifice.. well... Hogsmeade had plenty of debutantes anyway...

The Great Quest for Snacks
#17
Glad that Sisse had laughed as well, she nodded at the other girl's suggestion. "I guess that would make sense. Just doing something as a joke and it stuck? I'm not sure if I can imagine the founders doing that though, they seem so serious. Maybe someone else." She shrugged, looking around. The other two girls' reactions held her attention more than the kitchen did. She'd already seen the kitchen though honestly, it still was impressive every time.

As a house elf paused to look at them, she froze, a moment of worry surfacing. Oh she hopped showing Sisse and Sloane the kitchens didn't make the house elves hate her. After Sloane's quick apology, Calla started, "I am sorry to bother you, but we were wondering if we could get a quick snack and then we'll get out from under your skin, if that would be okay?"

Any response to Calla was forgotten the moment she walked through the portrait hole to the kitchen. The kitchen was huge! It seemed larger than her home, even cook would have been amazed at it. Then there was the house elves. Sisse who had never seen any felt her eyes go wide as tea saucers. She nodded mutely to Calla's words beside her. "Yes, please." She only just remembered to add.

The house elf didn't seem all that bothered per ce but perhaps not particularly thrilled either. Sloane ducked her head, awaiting a scolding, but the elf sighed and set about making them a little snack in a resigned kind of manner. Another approached more cheerfully with what appeared to be three glasses of lemonade.

"Here misses, you enjoy!" She said in a chipper, squeaky voice. Sloane beamed at this elf; perhaps it was just the one they'd interrupted that was grumpy? Not about to look a gift horse in the mouth, Sloane remembered her manners.

"Thank you! We'll stay out of the way we promise." She took her glass and sipped at it thoughtfully, taking in the sights of the kitchen with a much wider smile now. Everything happened in a flurry and no time the girls were presented with more than enough for a proper snack. What a fabulous idea this had been!
