Did you know?

First names were most often used by childhood or school friends. If the friendship was made after school age, first names would only really be used by women. Men were far more likely to refer to their friends by their surnames, a mark of familiarity. — Documentation

WANTED:

Emilia Wright for Jude Wright. Casually alienating offspring since 18882.
Separating was also not a great idea, though they weren't doing great at staying together anyway. If she were to volunteer to be the human sacrifice.. well... Hogsmeade had plenty of debutantes anyway...

Dawlish Investigation Closed
Former Chief Warlock's Death Ruled Accidental

After thorough investigation over the last few months, Mr. Dawlish's death has been ruled a tragic accident. While the circumstances under which he was discovered initially suggested foul play was involved, it seems this was ultimately not the case. The series of events leading to the sudden appearance of the deceased in his study explain away what seemed like suspicious circumstances at first glance.

The late Chief Warlock appears to have spent the week of New Years in a French chateau. It was apparently not unusual for him to leave abruptly and without informing his household staff and so his absence was not considered particularly concerning at first. The unpacked suitcase found in the study suggests that Mr. Dawlish had just returned home when the accident occurred. It seems a letter opener was knocked from his desk and this went unnoticed until he stepped on it and slipped. As he fell, he hit his head on the edge of his desk. This did not kill him immediately, however, but certainly impaired his movements.

It is believed he tried to use the desk to pull himself back onto his feet but instead dislodged a marble bookend which resulted the second and fatal blow to the head. He would have died within a couple minutes of this last injury.

The family of the late Mr. Dawlish said they were pleased that his memory will not be marred by a murder investigation and hope that now that the circumstances of his death have been uncovered, that he will be able to rest in peace.

TWIN GIRLS DISAPPEAR
Parents Come Forward with Plea

After days of quietly cooperating with Ministry investigators, Mr. Damien Bénet and his wife, Mrs. Sarah Bénet, have announced that their twin daughters, Miss Claire and Miss Céleste Bénet, have gone missing. The children were last in the company of their nanny at the London piers on the night of April 22nd when both girls vanished from sight.

The investigators have not yet ruled kidnapping out of the struggle, but none of the local visitors or residents reported seeing any out-of-place individuals, nor heard any screaming. Signs of struggle have not been discovered at the scene. Mr. and Mrs. Bénet’s told Ministry officials that their daughters were both adventurous and prone to running off when their nanny’s back is turned.

The girls, both aged eleven, were expected to attend Hogwarts in the upcoming school year. They stand at approximately four and a half feet tall, have thin frames, and both possess auburn hair. Anyone with information regarding the disappearance is asked to come forward to speak with investigators.
