Whether they were truly improving or it was a matter of probability, Nikolai could not rightly say, but the professor was pleased to see wisps of silver spring forth from the wand-tips of Miss Woodcroft, Mr. MacFusty, Mr. Whitledge, Mr. Quirrell, Miss Crawford, Miss Midford, and Miss Noel. The rest still worked away, with mixed results.

The wizard glanced at his pocket watch; class would soon be ending.

MEMORY: Spending some quiet time with her dear sister, both reading together.

No, that memory was too weak. It needed to be even more personal, more happy. A memory with family? That would work. Family was so important, so amazing. Oh, she knew. Her sister, that girl was such a light in her life. Perhaps… that one time they were simply spending some time together, reading a book together. The family cat laying on Margaret’s lap, Isabel seeming to be quite relaxed. That was good, it felt right. “Expecto patronum!”

Elaine made pretties

Again and again Handsome had tried to conjure a patronus, but it just wasn't working! The frustration was overwhelming, but to think pessimistically was not the way to conjure a patrons. Happy thoughts only, right?

He took a moment to cool off, searching through his mind for any happier memories — ones he thought might bring a smile to his face immediately. The past year of his life had been full of gloom, but there had to be some good things. Making the quidditch team was a no, and he'd already tried his kisses and his head boy. All his other happy memories were tainted by sad reminders: memories with his father, memories with his mother, memories of a happy, whole family. Merlin, was he that down? Being sorted into Gryffindor seemed the happiest of the bunch, and most importantly, the one not tainted by sour memories.

"Expecto patronum!" he cast once more, his hopes high.

Goddamnit. Still bloody nothing. What was it going to take for him to produce something? Getting a boner in class???

Hopefully not. Kris cleared his throat, thought of his memory, and tried casting again.

While Katherine did manage to produce something, it wasn’t the patronus that she needed. She was out of happier memories too so she’ll have to make do. She focused on the happiness that she felt the time she went star gazing and used the spell once more.“Expecto Patronum!”

Emmeline could hardly believe she'd finally produced a whisp. As a result, she rather excitedly cast the spell once more with emphasis and elation. Hopefully she'd produce a full patronus by the end of the class.

She bit her lip, frowning. She knew the spell was supposed to be hard but producing no results was frustrating. Was it the memory? Was it her? She didn't know. She didn't want to go changing her memory if it was something she was doing wrong. With that mental deceleration she attempted the spell again.

It seemed as though the students’ efforts were taxing them as less and less successful attempts shone through. In an effort to rally them in the last few moments, Nikolai became a bit more…liberal with incentive.

“Keep working—five points to each of you!” he said to Mr. Whitledge, Miss Midford, and Miss Woodcroft, the only students to produce so much as a wisp in this latest round of casting.

MEMORY: Being brave enough to tell her parents that she fully supported her little sister, even if Isabel is a squib.

After a few tries, she was beginning to realize that even this wasn’t enough. Relaxing as it was, happy as it was, it was not solid or strong enough. But, one thing was clear, her sister. Her sister was the one that continuously entered her mind when she thought of happiness.

Perhaps it didn’t have to be with her sister in the memory for the memory to be important. Important, that was it! It had to be important. She remembered the day, hearing her parents speak of Isabel, debating sending her away. That was when Margaret had spoken to them, told them that she would never stop supporting and caring for Isabel. Having that courage, that strength, it was the first fully realized that she was a Gryffindor.

Taking a deep breath, she smiled as happy tears slowly trickled down her face. “Expecto patronum!” She cast once more, reaching deep within herself as she concentrated on the memory.

The half goblin trained lilac eyes at the wisp that sprung from her wand. It wasn't enough to tell a shape, but she would take it, she thought with a victorious grin. Deciding that the results were enough to keep the memory, she held her wand out to try again.

iziza is a half-goblin, meaning she is quite short. your character might not know why but they will notice her height and white hair that marks her as such.

A quick glance at the clock told him that he likely had few — if more than one at all — tries left to cast a patronus in Defence Against the Dark class, and he was determined to get it right. Focus was what he needed, but too much focus made the memory much less real. He needed to remember meeting his housemates, meeting his friends, becoming prefect, house quidditch — all of it. With one last deep breath, Handsome concentrated his efforts and cast the spell again.

Katherine at this point felt useless and the incentive from Professor Sleptov didn’t help encourage her. But she wasn’t going to give up, she was not a quitter. There were still sometime, not a lot but she could still make a patronus appear. This time, she tried to actually feel happy while remembering her memories. For the last time she cast the patronus charm "Expecto Patronum"

Another wisp was a great sign. Emmeline felt as though she was certainly getting the hang of it and getting extra points for her house only helped to add to her happiness and excitement. She was pretty sure this would be her last chance so she focused all of that happiness and excitement she was feeling over getting the extra points into her memory, truly feeling the happiness. "Expecto Patronum," she said simply with a flick of her wand, sincerely hoping for the best.

Not even the barest wisp of anything. Maybe his frustration was increasingly corrupting his attempts, unable to stop himself side-eyeing everyone who was doing better than him.

But no, Kris couldn't be focused on the rest of the class. He had to feel his memory. He tried to clear his head and let it fill him up, waiting with his wand poised until he was as focused as he could ever be. He cast the incantation once more. (If this didn't work, he was going to need to pummel something to a pulp.)

The bell tolled to signify the end of their time together just as a handful of students made their last attempts. To each of the pseudo-successful parties—Miss Rawlinson, Miss Noel, Mr. Whitledge, Miss Midford, and Miss Woodcroft—who had been able to produce a wisp in their final effort, Nikolai awarded five house points.

Most impressive, though, was Mr. Lestrange, who produced not a wisp but a silvery weasel—not corporeal, for apparently that was too much to ask of this group, but impressive nonetheless.

"Well done, Mr. Lestrange," Nikolai announced, his raised eyebrows betraying his surprise. "Take fifteen points for Slytherin. And good efforts from all of you—keep them up between now and our next lesson!"
