June 5th, 1890

My darling daughter,

I am writing with the most delightful news. Since my health seems to be somewhat stable, my healer has encouraged me to seek a change of scenery. Although the Cornwall air is lovely, she thinks some time away might help keep any further illnesses at bay. I'm excited to inform you that I shall be spending the summer at the Sandition. I shall be occupying a single suite.

I do hope you will visit me there. I will remain there until the chilly pneumonia weather sets in.

June 6th, 1890

Dearest Mama,

How wonderful it is to hear you're doing so well. A summer by the sea is a delightful prospect, so much so that Daniel and I have already inquired about a house on the terrace opening next month. It will be nice to have you both so near to one another. Perhaps this is a new beginning for us all.

We are to retire to the sea the first week of July. I look forward to seeing you, as always.
