A Quiet Saturday Morning
#1
September 8th, 1888- Grounds

Adrien was sitting on a small bluff a couple feet above the lake, looking out across the glassy, windblown waters. He had an empty journal on his lap, and a quill and vial of ink beside him. His mind wondered into fantastic lands as he stared out.

It was time between classes. And that meant wandering around school and maybe finding something fun to do. So she wandered the grounds and looked around. What a new adventure this was. How exciting! Looking at another first year, she saw a book in his lap. Tilting her head, curiosity filled her as she wandered over. "What are you reading?" She asked, never one to hide her curiosity.

Adrien jumped to his feet, clutching the journal as he glanced around, finding the girl. "Oh, hi! Actually I was about to start writing."

Well, she hadn't meant to startle him. That was usually what pranks were for. Smiling brightly, she was glad to find someone new to talk to. "Ooo, about what?"

"Well, i am not exactly from.... this life. I am from Norwich, my pa was a blacksmith so my life was rather mundane. I used to read about mythology and like to write my own stories." He said with a warm smile. His steel grey eyes studied her for a moment, "I am Adrien Blackthorne."

Mundane? How mundane was mundane? Reading about mythology wasn't unusual. Claire would read that stuff all day if she could... unless she could go on an adventure. Then she would do that instead. "Stories are so much fun. But making your own adventure is even more exciting." She said brightly. Both were amazing things in life of course. "I am Claire Bénet."

"True! I'd love to go on an adventure, I can hardly believe we can do magic! And that we live in a castle!" He spouts off, excitedly. "AND! Someone told me there are.... Dragons!"

The smile brightened on her face. Excitement was catching. "Wonderful, isn't it? We need to find them. One day, perhaps we can tame them and ride them!" What a wonderful idea!

"Yes! Also, your hair looks like the forge I helped my pa at!" He says, resisting the urge to see if it was hot to the touch.

"Awe, that's so sweet of you!" It was a complement, right? She thought so. Despite her upbringing, she would likely let him touch her hair to test that theory.

Adrien blushed slightly. "Hey, have you explored the owl tower yet?!"
Claire Bénet

#12
"There is a tower for owls?" She hadn't seen a tower shaped like an owl, though she doubted that there was anything quite that grand.

"I haven't gone up to it, but it is past the Quidditch feild! Let's go!" He said, as he stuffed his stuff into a satchel and ran off in that direction.

There was a hop to her step as she nodded her head and followed him. "How exciting! I can't wait to explore this whole castle!" What an adventure!

He laughed as he ran with her, eventually finding the tower at the top of a knoll, owls flitting to and from the tower. "Look! Up there!"

The red head laughed with him. Looking where he pointed, she smiled with glee. "Let's go!"
