Hi folks. Ready for some St. Patrick's day fun? I knew you would be.
Introducing the Celtic Street Fair!
The event itself will last from Friday, March 16th - Sunday, March 18th in a roped-off area of Padmore Park. There will be vendors from all over Ireland selling food, drinks, jewelry, clothing, traditional instruments - basically everything you could possibly associate with Ireland. There will also be period performances by musicians, dancers, illusionists, etc., and some stalls/areas set up with games, including the fun spring-fair stuff like a "How Strong Are You", "Can We Guess Your Star Sign", a dunk tank, and toss-the-ring-on-the-bottle stuff, plus some more traditional Irish games like handball, quoits, or Brandubh.
The Mischief
Unbeknownst to the fair-goers, there are several merchants or vendors who have seen fit to include a few harmless pranks into the celebrations. Among them:
As far as my characters go, they're basically all open to mischief! I'd particularly like to get @"Ophelia Dippet" handfasted to someone whom she would not like to have at her wedding later this month, so that she can get progressively more freaked out about trying to find a way to break it. xD Obviously any volunteers would have to be down for a handful of threads since this would last at least a few weeks!

The Mischief
Unbeknownst to the fair-goers, there are several merchants or vendors who have seen fit to include a few harmless pranks into the celebrations. Among them:
- a woman at a stall will be providing hand-fasting ceremonies, as a sort of cultural reference. "Come learn about handfasting and let me tie a knot around your fingers with this stranger over here! You're so cultured now!" What the customers don't know if that the person they are tied to will be magically bound to them for an undetermined length of time — they will be physically incapable of getting more than some set distance away from each other. Effects last until you can find a way to magically reverse them, or until you get tired of it and want it to wear off xD
- a statue vendor will be selling figurines of famous witches and wizards, as well as key religious figures from Irish history (for example, St. Patrick himself). Some of these have been enchanted to put themselves into rude or lewd positions when no one it looking... so hopefully don't give one to your spinster great aunt, because you might shock her to death.
- ale for sale spiked with very small amounts of veritaserum - not 'spontaneously tell all your secrets' amounts, but definitely enough to make your liquid courage go a little farther in the honesty department than it might otherwise!
- flutes and pan pipes for sale which, when played, irresistibly attract every nearby [insert your animal of choice here].
- a few pieces of jewelry that will get you really into the spirit of St. Patrick's day by slowly turning your character green, starting with their hair.
- maybe a rogue leprechaun or two in the crowd to create some spontaneous little situations for your characters to deal with!
- And just about anything else you can come up with! Just keep in mind that these are intended to be mischevious little surprises, nothing that would be malicious in nature or do harm to your character
except perhaps their pride.
