Ava eyed the man Jacques had indicated, and she looked him up and down. She wasn't sure she'd ever seen him before, so she merely nodded and turned back to the man in front of her. "Ah. Well, at least it looks as if he hasn't yet seen you."
She took another thoughtful sip of her butterbeer and questioned, quite bluntly, "You don't owe him money or anything, do you, Mr. Michaud?" The woman paused, and then set to elaborate. "I just like to be prepared in case we are in for any sort of trouble." She stated, as if she knew full well some of the things that could happen.
She hadn't caught on to the fact that they were ex-lovers, but she did seem to decide there was something more to the situation at hand.
