The gentleman seemed genuinely pleased with the idea of seeing her again, the thought put a delighted smile on Lucy's lips. He was right, though, faces did tend to repeat themselves. This event, while not as exclusive as some, was full of faces she knew. If he spoke of exclusive events it hinted that he traveled in the same circle as her own. Then why had she not yet met him? "I shall look forward to it." Lucy told him honestly.

As she sipped from her champagne she noted a gentleman approaching her, pocket watch out and eyeing her. She couldn't help it, she sighed. "It appears I better rejoin the party." She put the champagne down an empty table to be cleared by the staff. "Thank you for your rescue, sir." With a final charming smile Lucy left to intercept the next gentleman, noting her dance card had acquired a new name, surely the gentleman intent on heading toward her. She was no where near as handsome as her own gentleman, but he seemed reasonable enough. Perhaps he might even allow her to slip away to Helga or Nora and start figuring out who her mysterious helper had been.
