"So, your going to kick me out then?" She mumbled softly. That was her only reaction. Her main thought was... she would never see the people that actually cared about her again. Old wounds were open. In a way, Killian had been a distraction from all of it. Had she ever really grieved?

Bella eyed her cautiously, half expecting for Regina to burst out in tears at any moment.

"I was only suggesting you get some fresh air. You look upset and the air in here surely messes with our minds." She was certainly about to go insane after nearly a week of being confined to this room! "I don't know what's upsetting you, but I hope everything is...well. At least not as awful as before."

"Just... remembering that I'm alone now. And I can't see how you hope for my wellness." She muttered. Why couldn't she be horse riding with father? Building real memories with mother? Did anyone even remember her mother? She didn't.

Bella bit her lip, unsure of how to respond. Regina was making this about herself, despite the privileges in life she was obviously completely unaware of. She may be beau-less and may have no parents, but she had an opportunity to escape—she only needed the patience to wait for its arrival.

"Well I wouldn't wish my situation upon you; I doubt you'd survive a night."

Men didn't seem to take an interest in her one bit. She blamed Killian and that dreadful sister of his for ruining her first season. Each next season seemed as though just a ticking clock to spinsterhood. That would certainly be dreadful.

"You're right. I wouldn't. I'd have starved to death by now. I would have died from shock from the wounds that you got. I'm weak and we both know that. I probably won't survive long enough to see happiness even in my own situation. But you, you're resourceful." She responded bluntly.

"I wouldn't call myself resourceful," she exaggerated with a teasing roll of her eyes. "I merely have desperation and dumb luck that no one can seem to understand. Nothing I do is an impressive display of tact—just shamelessness. It's truly a surprise that I have yet to find myself six feet under."

Regina, unfortunately, had less shamelessness and less luck than she did.

"I don't know what you're expecting to off you anytime soon, but I'll be disappointed if I outlive you. I wanted to be the one to die young and tragically!"

Regina simply shrugged. "Killian is probably hiding in his study to plan my death. Who else would have my families money when I'm dead? I have no living relatives. I have no access to the money, or I would simply leave with it and not have to rely on my non-existent resourcefulness." She replied. These thoughts seemed to be on her mind quite a bit lately. The fog certainly wasn't helping her as she tried to not worry about what her future might look like.

Bella stared at her, nose scrunched and brows furrowed. "Regina, I don't think he could legally have it. He's of no blood relation; you likely have second-cousins, third-cousins, or great-uncles and aunts out there who are better qualified to inherit anything you may have waiting for you in Gringotts."

Raising an eyebrow, she looked at Bella questioningly. "Where? I'd love to meet someone I'm actually related to. Perhaps they aren't crazy like he is." She stated. Where had they been all of this time if they knew she existed? Surely it would have been more suitable to live with them when her aunt died.

"How would I know, Regina?" she mused. "I don't follow your family tree, but I doubt you have no extended relatives. With birth rates, I can't see how your father, grandfather, or great-grandfather would have no siblings that have given you cousins down various lines."

"Perhaps so. But if they can be informed of the money, I can't see why they weren't informed of the death of a family member who was second to last of his family branch." She responded. Where had they been at the funeral? Was her branch simply not worth their time, but the money would be?

"I couldn't say, Regina," she sighed with a shake of her head. "I'm not exactly known for being skilled at handling family members; half the time I can hardly remember the cousins who share my surname." She would have never been a good socialite—even if she'd managed to avoid social ruin.

Regina was silent for a while. Then she turned to Bella. "What are you doing?" She asked.

The silence was welcome, if not a little awkward. The question that followed puzzled Bella and was actually pretty stupid considerations her current position; she flashed Regina an look that said as much.

"Dying, probably. You?"

Scoffing, she realized that Bella didn't realize what she meant. "I didn't mean in general. I meant with... I don't know. Are you trying to cheer me up? Shut me up? You're always sending mixed signals." She stated.

Bella shrugged as best as she could while lying in bed.

"I'm trying to stop you from collapsing in hysterics. I'm not sure if you've picked up on it by now, but a probably-dying woman cares very little about trivial matters just as your marriage prospects," she shaded. "You're eighteen. You're not going to be a spinster soon. Calm down."

Maybe Regina would catch malaria and die, too. Would she care later? It was likely.

Now, though? Probably not.
