When Citrine Weasley attempted the apple moved a few inches toward her, tumbling off the table entirely. Ellsworth made no move to retrieve it, instead he nodded for the next student to attempt the spell.

@"Jemima Farley" was next. She managed to move the apple toward her, it even lifted into the air before plopping back on the floor.

Then Taggart Renshaw attempted the spell again. This time the apple lifted into the air and flew toward him, landing with a skid on the desk before him. “Very good, Mr. Renshaw. Five points for Slytherin.

Cane Backus followed Mr. Renshaw the apple flying over to his desk next. “Excellent Mr. Backus. Five points to Ravenclaw.” Ellsworth grinned, glad they were finally getting the hang of the spell.

When Frida Lestrange attempted the spell the apple simply sat where it had been. So much for the streak of success the students had been having.

Justice Rookwood did manage to make it move a few inches on Miss Lestrange’s desk but no further than that.

Cameron Gillenwater, however, had even less success. The apple actually moved away from the direction Mr. Gillenwater was in and when Darling Whitledge attempted it the apple sat as stubbornly as it might a muggle saying the words.

Watching the apple stay put in the aftermath of other students' success, Frida's heart sunk in her chest. Then, with a little less hope and a little less force, she lifted her wand once more and simply cast: "Accio, apple!"

When the apple forward an inch, Thomas frowned since it hadn't been the desired reaction he had been hoping for. While other seemed to have successes, it didn't seem to get him down. His next attempt had him turning to face the hand in which the apple currently resided. He lifted his wand into a nice arch and called out, "Accio, apple."

Darling shot her dormmate a commiserating glance when she failed her own attempt at the spell. "Accio apple," she tried, a little more command in her tone. Which sounded slightly comical since Darling was not a commanding sort of presence at all.

Cane almost smiled at his success, waiting for the others to get their attempts in before trying once more. After all, he had to be sure that he could repeatedly do the spell, not just be satisfied with a one-off.

When Frida Lestrange tried to summon the apple it inched toward her but did little else. Then Thomas Montgomery attempted it and it started a few inches his direction before Darling Whitledge summoned the apple to her, it flew neatly through the air. “Well done Miss Whitledge, five points to Hufflepuff.” He declared. Cane Backus then summoned the apple successfully to him. “Excellent Mr. Backus.” He nodded in approval before summoning the apple to him and striding into the middle of the room.

As it seems you have almost grasped the task at hand, I believe we shall call it a day. Your homework shall be to continue practicing the summoning charm. I trust you shall use it well.” He warned them gently, he hated to hear of students misusing charms on their classmates. “Class dismissed.
