Adult Potion Brewing April '88: Group G -
Charles Macmillan - April 22, 2018
April 14th, 1888 — Potioneers' Guild, London
There would soon be a winner for the Novice brewers and they were currently assembled before him. Would it be the Ministry lawyer or the odd poetess? Charles had his money on the lawyer, or he would if anyone had offered to place bets with him. "Please brew a Swelling Solution. Begin when you are ready."
Finnian Byrne Porphyria Dempsey

Though she needed no boost to her ego in general (she had enough innate self-confidence to bother with what other people thought of her, unless they liked her poetry), Porphyria was delighted to have gotten this far in the competition.
And besides, she thought, glancing at her competitor this time round, either way the winner would be Irish, that was something.
She settled down to work - settled down was a word for it; she'd accidentally sprayed puffer-fish eyes about the place when she got a little overenthusiastic with the pestle - but she was as concentrated as she could be, and after a last quick heat of the concoction, she stepped back and raised her hand.

They would be making a Swelling Solution, and Finnian would need the exact
opposite of that for his brain once this competition was over. He eyed his competitor, a pretty girl with pretty dark hair. Perhaps he'd have a little
chat with her once the competition was over. He offered her a sincere smile before Mr. Macmillan announced the beginning of the round, and then tried to brew with all his might. When he was finished, he took a step back and waited to be judged.

Again, not that he needed the money, but Charles regretted that he hadn't placed bets because it turned out that Byrne's potion put Miss Dempsey's to shame. "Congratulations, Mr. Byrne, it's a winner."
