Greengrass,

I thought you would have been here by now. Are you going to keep me waiting much longer, or shall I ready myself for bed all on my own?

Yours,
V. Macnair

Greengrass,

You should know you can tell me if there's something wrong.

Let me know when you want to come over.

Yours,
V. Macnair

Macnair,
I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to break off plans, especially not without telling you anything about it beforehand. We were in the middle of a bit of a family emergency, but it's all resolved now. At least, as resolved as it's likely going to be. I could explain better in person (if you want to hear about it — from my end I could probably stand to spend a few hours not thinking about it for a change).

When can I see you next? I know it hasn't even been a week but I miss you like mad.

Greengrass,

As long as you're well, you don't need to tell me anything you don't want to. You are well, aren't you?

I'm working two twelve-hour shifts on Monday and Tuesday, but I have Wednesday off. Come and see me that evening.

Yours,
V. Macnair

Macnair,
Two twelve-hour shifts? Sleep late on Wednesday morning. I'd like you well rested so I can tire you out myself.

I've already promised to take Grace to a dinner party that night but I can be at yours by ten.

I'm fine, but if you don't believe me you're welcome to do a thorough inspection for yourself.

See you soon,
F. Greengrass
