Not Another Teen Movie - Jemima Greengrass - August 23, 2018

So. This is @"Jemima Farley", a Hufflepuff going into her fifth year. MCPB, but both of her parents are enthusiastically and embarrassingly pro-muggle. Jemima herself is sweet but shy, nice to most people, basically friendly but maybe forgettable. HER DIARY FORGETS NOTHING, THOUGH. My plan is to backwrite a whole load of entries so that, at some point during the school year when it gets "published", everyone knows what kind of ridiculous things it says >D But for that, I need your help!

ARE WE ESTABLISHED FRIENDS?

Jemima is friendly, or friend-adjacent to Justice Rookwood, so if you also hang out with him, tell me. What kinda stuff do we do together, what do we like to talk about, what are your Weird Quirks, etc.
Dormmates, housemates, yearmates, tell me how you imagine we interact, because I will be writing about you.
Any student that is likely to have had a specific one-off encounter with her in roughly the last schoolyear (87-88), give me it and I'll roll with it. e.g. things like "X and Jemima probably aren't that close but they did a History of Magic project together one time" I will make anything awkward, promise

You would never know Jemima disliked you to your face, but if you are not nice to her she will have THINGS TO SAY to her diary. Sign up for some hate-rants here.
Eventually required: THE DIARY THIEF. It could be a theft of opportunity, but if the diary fell into their hands, I require someone who would magically multiply it/pass it out to people with the morning post/shower pages of it around school as paper planes/idc, just get the dirt out there.

Jemima is going to be humiliated 5ever, but maybe Jemima knows a secret of yours, and wrote it right down in her diary like an idiot. This could be something that your character told her directly in confidence, or something she discovered about them by accident, but... if it's in there, it's getting out xD

In general, the more specific you are, the more I will have to go on so I don't run out of steam, but hey. Got any other ideas? Hit me up.

Harrison Vance is a friend of Justice's! They're Quidditch bros and all that jazz so she'd know him for sure. He's a bit of an arrogant twat though and thinks his shit don't stink. So she could def have opinions on that. He's also a horrible sore loser so would have bouts of tantrums if something doesn't goes his way and is probably especially mean in such occasions. He also makes a point of doing whatever he can to one up his bro (who is not played atm, but should be!) and so there's that.

Monet Brown is a 4th yr Slytherin that is usually pretty sweet and whatnot. If we can establish a friendship somehow between them (Maybe MCPB bonding?), she could have a Monet secret in her diary about finding a certain Mr. Eldin Bones to be quite dashing and charming.

And then if Tansy Tatting ends up in Hufflepuff, she's a bit timid and whatnot but if a friendship were to form there somehow, she could find out about Tansy's fashion sketches. Maybe Tansy even shows her at some point. She'd be utterly devastated for such info to get out, tbh.

Clementine Rookwood is Justice's younger sister and Jemima's roommate! HALLO, LET US BE FRIENDS. Something else: Clem is not... the smartest, and also kind of emo/over-dramatic, so maybe periodic COMPLAINING ABOUT MY FRIEND COMPLAINING ALL THE TIME UGH!!! for later dramas?

Elliot Carmichael is 1) hot and 2) one of Jemima's professors, so feel free to be embarrassing about him as you will.

Merriweather Mulciber is friendly with Justice and functionally incapable of speaking to pretty girls without getting awkward AF. Embarass him at your leisure because I'm sure he and Jemima have run into each other and Merry would be like :| oh no she's hot better NOT SPEAK AT ALL.

@"Acacia Ruskin" is a kind and social girl. But there is negativity around halfbreeds, and I'm not sure how your character feels about that sort of thing. Though they differ in age, Acacia does try to make friends as much as she can ~~a bit insecure about being a half-vampire and always worrying about what other people think could absolutely cause that~~. So they could be friends, she Jemima could be a bit cautious around her because she's part vampire, or she could find the shy 'be my friend' vibe to be a bit annoying. Any of that could lead to any sort of awkwardness.

Camille Scrimgeour is the sister of the near-Hogwarts-famous Holly, who most people avoid due to a short temper and a habit of manipulation. Some might associate Camille with that attitude as well, even if she's not really like her sister that much personality wise. Though Camille does have purist views due to how she was raised, she's not real blunt about it. But that doesn't mean that she hasn't said a comment or two on the subject if it is brought up. Jemima's family has been known for being blood traitors? Could cause some unintended tension there. Not to mention the drama with the other Scrimgeour branch.

Claire Bénet is an incoming first year, so these would be more recent entries. Claire is an adventurer, who loves to talk about her little adventure about stowing away on a ship. Some say that this is talked about too much, others even say that it shouldn't have happened in the first place. Claire also likes to play pranks on others, though isn't trying to hurt anyone's feelings in the process. Though she wouldn't ruin your homework assignment, she might ruin your breakfast by putting somethings silly in it. She's a very sweet and likeable girl, unless one has no patience for her adventures or trouble making.

Edgar Rey II is a fairly chill person, and it takes a lot to get him upset. He might go on a short rant about his purist grandfather if the topic is brought up, but that is about it. This should be Ravenclaw doesn't have much to offer in far of interesting stuff done on his part for a diary entry, but perhaps they could have done a project at some point that went wrong in an awkward way.

Goodluck Warbeck is the new quidditch captain, and current seeker. He loves talking about quidditch. His sister is even a pro-quidditch team captain and fellow seeker. Both topics are his favorite thing to talk about. For those who do not enjoy that much talk of quidditch, this could be a bit annoying. Other than that, he is a kind and loyal guy.

Hestia Fairchild is an accident prone girl who has recently been through several losses in her family. While a bubbly and bright person in nature, she has become (reasonably) moody recently due to this. She might have caused them to trip over each other at some point, or accidently spilled something on her when walking through the great hall.

Jeremiah Tatting is her teacher. A complete nerd, and fairly enthusiastic about muggles as well (muggle studies teacher, so it works). Perhaps she accidently did something embarrassing in his class, or he was simply just acting particularly nerdy one day.

@"Luce Faucher-De Loncrey" is not very note worthy when it comes to embarrassment or anger. Though it could be seen as weird that she doesn't really like the English language, and might mention this if she is especially frustrated with her homework. French is her first and favorite language, and at least a good portion of her housemates know this.

Sweetie Whitledge has been a bit of a brat up until last school year, then was moping the entire year and being bullied by former friends. Now she is definitely starting to get better emotionally, caused by no longer living with her brother. It is not a secret that she and her brother do not get along, and WW has also made sure that it is not a secret that she no longer lives with him and their sisters. While she is more pleasant as a person, some may find the information of her not living with her siblings anymore to be concerning.

Sadly I have very few students to help you out, but here is what I do have:

Somersby Fudge 7th year, maybe she had a crush on him last year and he turned her down, maybe she thinks hes a know it all. Open to any and all ideas.

Sisse Thompsett is a 2nd year. I established last year shes afraid of exploding snaps and wouldn't want that to get out. But other than that shes really got nothing.

Sybille Lukeson isnt sorted yet. But I could see her accidently saying something to offend jemima cause syb was raised in a pureblood family.

Any other ideas I'm happy to work with too.

I only have two incoming first years to offer up!

Fleur Rey could very well end up in Hufflepuff. (But, we'll see!) She cares very little for blood purity and would likely stand up for someone who is a half-breed or muggleborn. Her father is also a squib. I dunno if that would make her an enemy or a friend of Jemima. I don't know if that helps! She also likes to feed people and bake.

Archer Belby His father is a werewolf who divorced his mother. He is absolutely obsessed with learning about werewolves, ghosts, and vampires. (And goblins...and house elves...) He will likely have books about them. He tries to keep it secret. He's also just really easy to embarrass because he's super socially awkward. He could very well end up saying something that is taken the complete wrong way.

So, yeah, open for anything if it gives Jemima ammo. I'd be especially willing to have Archie embarrassed, the poor soul.

Thomas Montgomery He is a 4th year Ravenclaw student whose mother ran off with a pornographer in his first year. Everyone, including Jemima, knows. He is also very touchy about it and prudish when it comes to any mention of intimate things now. At some point, he became so angry that he transfigured someone's shoes into birds that then flew away. Perhaps, she witnessed that, or it happened to her friend. Or she inadvertently said something to him once. He receives letters from his mother that he doesn't answer. Perhaps, she discovers one, or he drops one from his pocket and she finds it. He has a lot of scandal she could write about. He would be polite with her for the most part, unless she said something about the incident.

I'd love an IC interaction between Jemima and Acacia. It doesn't have to be threaded out, but I would love for their to be mentions of Acacia and Jemima speaking to one another. Perhaps Acacia offers to help in Jemima with a homework assignment, or Jemima encounters Acacia while she's painting.

Claire will be at Hogwarts while Cele will be in Hogsmeade, so if Jemima stayed at school for the holidays, perhaps they had an interaction then? Or right before Jemima leaves for home and Claire is all upset about her twin leaving and they interact regarding that. Or Jemima falls victim to a prank and suspects Claire or her twin (which may or may not be accurate).

Would love to see an interaction with Sweetie as well, if that's OK.

It's Diary D-Day!

It's time, friends. It's past midnight for me, so: as of Monday morning, 7th January, Jemima's diary has been sent out into the world and is fair game for all to read.

(Sorry, I ran out of time this week to do much more! However, since what I've written is only selected dates from the past year, if anyone had more specific interactions you had in mind you are all more than welcome to say that Jemima has mentioned people elsewhere in the diary and use this as IC fodder - run things past me if you're unsure, but hopefully from what I've written y'all at least have an idea of the tone. xD)
