Introducing Ezra - Ezra Applegate - January 23, 2024
This is Ezra, my new character who is literally haunted by his own inner demons. Come at me with anything that seems interesting to you, but I am especially interested in:
- flirting with anyone who could feasibly remind him of Rosalie Hunniford
- any romance trope that fits your fancy, he is technically hurlable but also full of trauma and emotional baggage which makes for fun relationships!
- fraught conversations with cursebreaking types, he would love your help but will probably just end up weirding you out! (Ezra has a blood curse he is magically prevented from telling people about)
- anyone who is obsessively into something - Ezra is on the lookout for a new "thing" to chase away his shadows so he might become fleetingly very interested in your thing until determining it doesn't work
- up to two girls he could have flirted with prior to 1889 that didn't end up going anywhere because he suddenly got inexplicably morose - could end up being friends now, or awkward, or enemies, or anything lol but I think there's potential interest there
Also, I am into hammering out how he gets on with:
- unspeakables
- Ministry men his age
- connections of Rosalie
- anyone you think could vibe well with him personality wise

Hallo I have:
– Derek McKinnon my new guy who is generally down to earth unless it was Ezra who showed interest in his sister, then he’d likely have something to say. Otherwise he’s a pretty amiable guy
– Benedict Sterling is pretty moody all around nowadays so they could be moody together?
– Avery Davenport as someone who either looks like Rosalie (she’s a meta so could easily be explained away , though it’d be fun to cause some confusion?) or could be a potential flirt (unlikely to go super far since she’s got a kid she’s looking out for) ooorrrr something else , I’m down for anything. She’s also one of those “reindeers are better than people” people and loves her work if you think ezra would latch onto that xD
Also offering up Phie (get her talking about plants and she won’t stop til asked, tbh) and Irene who’s technically awake rn but idk where her head is at yet.
I’ve run out of steam but I’m down for almost anything under the sun !

Oh hiii did you say "obsessively into something?" *gestures at Harry* ...Though, I mean, realistically, a bunch of my characters that bill. XD But pick your poison for obsessions--potions with Harry, magical diseases with Philomen Huxley are probably the most viable options. Also Fiona Little was in the same house in the year below him.

Lady when I tell you that I adore how this message ends in two emdashes. I fucking adore how this message ends in two emdashes. A+ visual storytelling my dear.
I'm not sure how he and Derek would interact? I could see them getting along reasonably well if they did, but not a ton of overlap between different job areas , bit of an age gap, etc. The best connection actually might be that Derek works at the same hospital as Rosalie does? (Unless you have decided jobs for Derek's siblings and there's some connection there!)
omg Ben <3 would love for them to be moody together, fair warning that when Ezra is moody he is not much help to anyone else who is moody. but if you wanna languish together he's your guy lol.
Super in to threadding him and Avery, I almost took your open thread but got stuck on trying to figure out how Ezra feels about bees (still unsure). I could expend more effort into figuring out how he feels about bees or we could do another thread, either way xD
And talking to Phie about plants sounds like a pretty feasible venture into a new hobby, she's in exactly the right place for him to seek her out with minimal effort so that's a super easy thread to start!

Anyway yes, I don't know what someone getting into magical diseases in a hobbyist capacity would look like??? but I am game for either Harry or Philomen. Which of them need more threads and/or sound more appealing to you?

LMAO listen I wrote this lying on the couch and then immediately tucked into a ball and fell asleep xDD I can't even remember how those emdashes got there but you aaaaare welcome! xD
I could see the connection via the hospital with Derek and Ezra! I also imagined at least one of his sisters works at the Ministry in some capacity, so I could always pick one, then we could go from there connection-wise?
Languishing sounds A+ to Ben xD though now that I think about it I think MJ and I'd one Benari thread is suuuuuper in the past, so I may need to do another Benari thread before I decide where his head is at.
For Avery I'm down either way! If you have the time to brainstorm, feel free to toss Ezra in there, and if not I'm down for another thread with her! I should say no cause I think she's got like 7 threads, but I am overflowing with muse so we'll cross that bridge when we get to it xD
Why don't we say for now a definite Phie + Ezra thread at Evergardens, and a tentative Avery + Ezra thread?
