Hogwarts Course Selection 1892 - 1893 - Euphemia Forsyte - July 17, 2022
It's back!
To help you (students AND professors) keep track of who takes what, I've made up this spreadsheet for you to input your students as you see fit! Separate tabs for OWL and NEWT level. Also a tab for art/music, which students of any year can take at any time -- if you teach these two classes, let me know if you want it broken down further!
Please keep the following in mind:
- First & second year students take specific classes, and can only choose whether or not to take art and/or music.
- Third-fifth years must choose one elective, and can choose no more than three. they also take all core classes.
- Sixth & seventh years must take at least three classes, and can take no more than seven. Please also keep these requirements in mind!
- All students may choose to take art and/or music at any time regardless of existing course load.
- For your reference, last year's rosters are available here!
This is all totally optional, of course, but I thought it would be helpful for those who REALLY LIKE organization and those who forget if Little Timmy took Ancient Studies or Ancient Runes!

According to the Harry Potter Lexicon, students choose their third-year electives before finishing their second year. I seem to recall in the books Harry and Ron talking to McGonagal about Third Year before the end of their school year. I think a bunch of pamphlets were in the Gryffindor Commonroom about various careers and their OWL and NEWT requirements. Not sure if this will help, since I'm no admin...
