School connections? Childhood friends know him as Tommy. He was clever enough to stay for all seven years on scholarship, despite his family's circumstances. Perhaps you knew his twin brother (deceased aged 21), a sensitive and more level-headed Gryffindor. Or perhaps you know his sister, five years younger (open to adopt). Tommy and Barbie were quite popular, especially their last few years at Hogwarts. Tom was Quidditch team seeker years 2-7, and he was often seen with Becks helping solve for anything you need to know (like finding your pet toad or if your crush likes you back). Where Barbs loved to be center of attention, Tommy seemed a bit shy by comparison (but just as flirtatious).

Old Flame(s)? Tommy has a bad habit of falling in love hard and fast. His first true love was an UC girl he "dated" a bit in seventh year, though she broke his heart at the Ball. Is that girl you? Did you do it out of spite, or out of necessity? I would so love for this to spill into present-day dramas, particularly if she's got ~feelings and ~is maybe married.

Old Colleagues? Bureaucracy really doesn't suit Tom. He had a brief entry-level stint at Dept of Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures from 1882 to 1884 (a favor his twin Eddie pulled from a friend). After his twin died, Tom explosively quit and dealt quite a bit of damage. Where were you in all this? Loved it and totally understood? Hated him because of all the time you wasted training him up?
For a brief period 1884 to 1886, Tommy took up bartending gigs and helped Barbie find gossip scoops before leaving for America. He was much better and happier there.

Americans? Perhaps you've met when Tommy was working as bartender at the prestigious Montauk Manor Hotel in New York? Or perchance there was a run-in somewhere in the social clubs or mixology courses of New York City? Maybe you had a sneaking suspicion of his affair with a muggle UC lady? He was there 1886-1892.

Miscellaneous Acquaintances and Run-Ins? Tommy is fresh off the boat from America as of February 6, 1892. You may see him roaming the streets of London and Hogsmeade as he revisits old haunts to see what changed, arranges a new home to share with his mother and sister in Pennyworth, and seeks employment. This man is impossibly lucky, a trait of the (surviving) family. He also presents himself as above his own class. Please consider him for any of your improbable scenarios.

Work... Day (and night) job? Tommy has an impressive resume catering to high-class taste in fine cocktail making. Indeed, the Victorian Era was the Golden Age for Mixology and he's quite well-read and practiced with the newest techniques. He may need to pick up a few hours at a local pub to cover the bills, but why not bring him to your next party? He's quite charming and will dress wonderfully for the occasion; you won't be disappointed. Look out for an advert in the papers soon.

Work... Moonlighting mysteries? Tommy doesn't know this yet, but he's bound to be roped into the biggest case for Mister Barnabas Beck yet. Besides this, Tommy's demeanor exudes discretion and trustworthiness. Is there perhaps something you want to learn about someone, but need a more tactful way to find out? Don't hesitate to call upon Mister Beck and Mister Harvey. Look out for an advert in the papers soon.

Friends? Contrary to popular belief, Barnabas isn't his only friend, just his bestest one. Tom can truly talk to and get along with just about anyone and bears no prejudices. He makes an excellent confidant and enjoys keeping secrets. His friends usually share a predisposition for a good stiff drink, cards, or perhaps a bit of poetry.

A case of mistaken identity? Did you have a thing with Tommy's twin Eddie? Do you even know that Eddie died at age 21? Good or bad, I would love to play out someone who (at first) mistakes Tommy for someone else.

Romance and intrigue? Tommy is highly hurable and even comes with his legit and word-for-word accurate theme song! The man would love nothing more than to find his true love, as the song says, he wonders often about it. But he just had his heart broken and fled America because of it, so. Anything in the short term will realistically be a fling or rebound. It will take a long time for Tommy to recover enough to fall in love again (that's what he swears to Barbs anyway).

I also have Samuel St.John-Black - who would have hung out in fancy places in the US in his single days!

I mean, obviously we've talked tons so no need for me to pimp Imane or Barbie ideas at you, but I wanted to pop in to say a couple of things I would LOVE to see in the realm of multiple partner threads:

Tommy and Barbie pranking/pissing off Rhys with shenanigans at some point. Perhaps even to the point where the pair get bitterly locked up for the day/night and joke around at whoever is stuck watching them. Elsie Kirke Jack Dorset Cassius Lestrange Aldous Crouch

Honestly any regular patrons of The Hogs Head that like to goof around while drunk and have a good time could be a blast too!

Omg I'm dying for this <3 tbd... he's annoying in the overly charming way at first but then quickly devolves in his best friend's company... We'll be visiting you at Hogs Head soon!
In meantime I wonder if Hestia could use a bit of help around the bar? Tommy's in search of a few work hours here and there while he figures out his gameplan xD But Tom will be sure to want to up their cocktail game and general 'ambiance'

Linus has an open thread in the Hogs Head by way of intro is they just want to get them acquainted? otherwise -if they've had a case or are doing some investigating Linus could seek him out looking for information so he can pitch it as a story to the editor.

Ok. I toss can Gus at him as a potential friend; they're around the same age and he gets along with pretty much everyone xD They would have overlapped at Hogwarts too. Gus was a Hufflepuff. Plus he's about to have a handful of drunken threads so that's always a bonus haha.

I have Atticus but he'd hate him lol, sooo... though maybe at a party they'd interact. Still can't say he'd be friendly. They also would have overlapped at Hogwarts where Atticus was a bit classist (and a jerk.)

June is also a bit of a hoe, so I'll toss her for giggles lol

Oh I love him!

So Felix here was Slytherin 71 to 78. Also he is a crime reporter so if you ever need that I have him here for it.

@"Percival Adlard Jr." was at the same ministry department at the time that Tom left. Percy is on the shy side so I imagine they've likely met.

ALSO I have Everett Swann for any legal needs he might have. Everett was a year ahead of Tom's twin and I would be willing to bet friends since he was friends with everyone. That said would totally be down for potential friendship here or even a mistaken identity.

AND on the note of America, I have Caroline Darrow. She debuted in Boston in 87 and then came to England in 88. Her family is middle class but very very well off. I have written that she fell in love with a dock boy at 16 so I could see her having gotten mixed up with Tom the year after she graduated. If so, Caroline is now married for love. However, her husband is a bit more reserved than she is. Would Tom be interested in a past love like Caroline?

As for current hurls I have @"Dahlia Potts" who is actually middle class, but I honestly don't think that would stop her.

And my odd ball for hurls or anything is Galina who is a very lonely vampire.

YESSS we could be frands with Everett Swann! Maybe Ev was actually friends with Tommy's twin as they were in the same house. Fell out of touch after school so he mistakes Tom for him but it's the start of a lovely friendship! Everett could become a helpful informant or something for future investigations if they build up that trust.

YESSS let's do Caroline Darrow past flame!! Maybe they both "helped" each other transition at a pivotal point in their lives, her from student > deb him from British kid > man having to make his own life?? In any case I could see Tom even getting along with a lonely vampire, he'll listen to anyone as he gets all romantic about life stories plus she might be a great informant for invesitgations.

Baz O’Rourke and Tommy are totally cut of the same cloth IMO!! He'll appreciate the guy's self-made qualities and hustle. Needs more informants too. They'll definitely be around each other sooooooo~
Eudora King I mean... AHHH obviously! I'M a sucker for UC/WC scandal. TOM'S such a masochist for UC/WC scandal. So if you wanna give her a total crisis over a steamy (somewhat temporary?) scenario I am sooooo happy to oblige~ I just say temporary because Tom's had his heart broken twice now by this exact scenario so he'll have his assumptions about her level of commitment. xD He's a sensitive soul!

I absolutely love these ideas and am totally down. The only one that might not work is Galina because she only just told someone the story of her past very recently and is not inclinded to share that information lightly. But Ev, Caro, and Percy are all on board. Just let me know who'd you'd like a thread with first and I can get that started.
