RE: Some Cupid Kills With Arrows, Some With Traps - Maeve Connolly - September 29, 2018

“You can apparate, can’t you?” the auror asked incredulously. That was, she supposed, something she ought to have confirmed before falling in love with him, and it seemed rather trivial now—but then, so did worrying about the ring when it could be had at a moment’s notice. Merlin, he was foolish! But at least he was charming about it all at once.

“Your Queenie can act as witness.”

RE: Some Cupid Kills With Arrows, Some With Traps - Barnabas Skeeter - September 29, 2018

"Yes, of course. Always the practical one you are," He responded quickly, not wanting is love to think him incapable of doing anything. She looked at him with eyes full of adoration. He didn't want to do a single thing to mess it up. Not now, after all this time. Barnabas didn't tell her that he was a clumsy apparater ever since he'd been down a limb. It was the landings that got him. Perhaps she was the missing piece in this. With her love stabilizing him, anchoring him to her, he would no longer have wobbly, topsy-turvy landings.

He pat his leg - the real one - and called, "Here, Queenie. Time to go." Lazily, she picked herself up and trotted over to him. He scooped her up, hat now atop his blonde head, and held his hand out to his soon-to-be wife, "Ready my love?" This was going to make him the happiest that he had ever been. He hadn't the slightest idea why this had never occurred to him previously. All these years they could have been spending happily together - perhaps with children, even - little tiny spitting images of him with their mother's ferocity. He'd be the best husband in all of Hogsmeade. He'd have to remember that for his vows once they reached Gretna Green.

“I'm always ready,” Maeve snorted in answer. Mr. Skeeter might be her soulmate (well, there was no might about it), but he did still have a deal to learn about Connolly women!

"And eager."
