RE: Bad Things - Emmeline Woodcroft - June 25, 2018

Emmeline looked up to him, her hands moving to her hips as she tried to look as intimidating as possible. It didn't really work. Not with the big smile, flushed cheeks, and tiny stature. She was so focused on attempting to scold him that she didn't even notice the step forward. "It still didn't feel good," she said with a raised brow, "So you're still the liar.

Hnadsome took a step closer to her, positioning himself so there was little more than a foot and a half between them. "I think it could begin to feel good... if you did a little more," he said with a taunting raise of a brow.

Emmeline could hardly believe him. Was he trying to get her drunk? She eyed him cautiously, pondering over the many possibilities in her mind. Though, it was a bit foggier than she was used to.

"Only if you do," she finally said with a challenging sort of tone.

Handsome bent down just slightly, his face hovering a few inches above hers.

"You've got a deal," he agreed, a wide smile breaking out onto his face. He then pulled away from her rather suddenly, moving back towards the bar. "Four more shots down here," he called towards the bartender.

Emmeline's face flushed even more, if that were possible, when his face was so suddenly close to her own. She could smell his breath. Firewhiskey was heavy there but there was another smell to him, one she'd never really noticed but couldn't quite place. She found herself licking her lips as he pulled away and ordered four more shots.

"Handsome!" she said, his first name this time only adding to her blush, "I said one!" Oh Merlin, what had she gotten herself into?

If the prospect of doing shots with Miss Woodcroft had gotten him giddy, the added familiarity of his first name made him even even more so. "Emmeline," he mocked teasingly, winking at her. He patted the seat next to himself, an invitation for her to join him. "Come on! You won't regret this."

RE: Bad Things - Emmeline Woodcroft - June 25, 2018

Emmeline's eyes widened again at the sound of her name coming from him. She couldn't very well blush anymore, she was surely already beet red as it was. With a sigh, however, she took the seat he had just patted. "I'm only promising one more," she said as her fingers gently wrapped around the glass before she looked to him hesitantly to make sure he was going to be taking his own.

RE: Bad Things - Handsome Whitledge - June 25, 2018

Handsome gripped his own glass, suggestively waggling his brows. "I'm sure this one will have you wanting more," he taunted before downing his own shot.

Emmeline raised her glass again but didn't bother to say cheers this time. She tipped her head back and took the shot quickly again before setting the glass back down. She winced, though not nearly as bad this time. And, apparently, number three was the trick. She frowned slight at Handsome. He wasn't a liar anymore. Because while it had most certainly burned, it wasn't awful anymore. But then again, her lips felt a little bit numb and she just felt tingly in general. "I don't like you right now," she said a bit abruptly but with a pout on her lips.

RE: Bad Things - Handsome Whitledge - June 25, 2018

Handsome scotted closer to her, but remained in his seat. "No, you love me," he teased before reaching out for his second glass. "Another, then?" He wondered how long it would take to get her drunk-drunk.

RE: Bad Things - Emmeline Woodcroft - June 25, 2018

Emmeline shook her head. It was the only way to disagree with him without stumbling over her words. She did, however, stick out her tongue at him much like a petulant child would. "Last one," she said quickly, too quickly. She wasn't exactly slurring her words but it was clear she'd hit the point of tipsy at the very least. She didn't wait for him though and took her's quickly before she lost the courage to do so. There was no wince this time though. A bit of a shudder, perhaps, as she found herself actually quite enjoying it. "I may even hate you," she said simply, with a grin.

RE: Bad Things - Handsome Whitledge - June 25, 2018

He smiled in pride as he downed his own glass despite the burn in his throat. He was glad he could introduce Emmeline to something new, even if it was something he might regret when he was sober once again.

"You don't hate me," he laughed as he hopped down from his stool. He reached out and grabbed her hand, waiting only a second before giving it a little tug. "Come on, let's go to the back. It's much quieter there," he said over the shouts that filled the bar.

RE: Bad Things - Emmeline Woodcroft - June 25, 2018

"Oh but I do," Emmeline said with a smirk, her cheeks flushing all over again at the feel of him taking her hand and giving it a slight tug. It was probably definitely the alcohol, but she easily slid from her stool and followed him. "You, mister," she said as they walked, giggling occasionally as they went, "Are an awful influence. You know that's the first alcohol I've ever partaken of?" As if that wasn't blatantly obvious.

RE: Bad Things - Handsome Whitledge - June 25, 2018

She didn't protest, nor did she pull away, which gave Handsome a big green light where he should have assumed she wasn't in the best frame of mind. This is the woman who continued to step back when he moved closer to her in patronus practice—but in his buzzed state, that wasn't on his mind.

He led her into the back of one of the rooms, only turning around once he was sure they were alone (well, save for a few drunks who looked like they were completely out).

"See? Much quieter," he said, taking a step towards her. He brushed a stray piece of hair out of her face, all the while examining the pink flush on her cheeks. Merlin, she was pretty.

RE: Bad Things - Emmeline Woodcroft - June 25, 2018

This was most certainly not the Emmeline everyone knew. She was prim and proper. Prude, even. Boys made her blush and want to hide when they stepped even remotely into her space. But now she was walking off into a back room with a boy that had once made her blush furiously while practicing magic.

She gulped when she looked up to him in the quiet of the room and he brushed a piece of hair out of her face. "Much quieter," she found herself repeating back to him, her mind quite hazy, "What did you want to talk about?" The question was random and perhaps even a bit awkward, the real Emmy but her feet were still planted firmly on the ground with no signs of fleeing.

RE: Bad Things - Handsome Whitledge - June 25, 2018

One could argue that Handsome wasn't in the right state of mind; however, pursuing Emmeline Woodcroft was not something he'd never considered before. He was definitely attracted to be, and the alcohol provided just enough of a buzz to rid him of his inhibitions. His arm slowly slid out and wrapped around her waist, though he didn't pull her against him—not yet.

"Mmm, we could talk about how you're going to come watch my quidditch games this summer," he murmured, his other hand moving to play with the sleeve of her dress.
