Did you know?

First names were most often used by childhood or school friends. If the friendship was made after school age, first names would only really be used by women. Men were far more likely to refer to their friends by their surnames, a mark of familiarity. — Documentation

Emilia Wright for Jude Wright. Casually alienating offspring since 18882.
Separating was also not a great idea, though they weren't doing great at staying together anyway. If she were to volunteer to be the human sacrifice.. well... Hogsmeade had plenty of debutantes anyway...

-- Stands slightly taller than average at 5’5”.
-- A round face with a square jaw is complemented by high cheekbones, a button nose, prominent blue-green eyes, and full lips.
-- A pale, umblemished tone that she maintains by a strict beauty potion regimen that she applies weekly.
-- Thick, medium-brown hair is streaked with caramel highlights and falls down to the middle of her back in soft waves.
-- Slender, Amber’s body type is average for her height and weight, though curves and assets are often accentuated by the use of a corset.
-- Dresses modestly but fashionably to emphasize that she is a respectable woman.
-- Lastly, she wields a wand and writes with her right hand.

Leo. ESFJ. Social. Enjoys being center of attention. Surprisingly practical, but does have a tendency to be a little melodramatic at times, regardless. Creative. Very stubborn - her mind cannot be easily changed once it’s set. Passionate. Confident. Loyal. Much more sensitive than she lets on. A romantic. Vain, to an extent. Adventurous, but does value stability and security. In possession of a sharp temper. Fashion-conscious. Proper. Gossip-prone. Loves a good conversation. Easily bored. Generous. Concerned with appearances. A strong sense of duty to make her family - her parents - proud. Vulnerable to criticism.
-- Amber’s patronus is TBD; however, she can’t cast one anyway, having only achieved wisps during her NEWT DADA class.
-- Her amortentia is comprised of tea leaves, incense, and jasmine.
-- Although considered a frivolous pastime (and she’s mostly accepted that she’ll never have a natural affinity for the subject), Amber is very fond of Divination. Tarot cards, tea leaf readings, and palmistry, in particular, are her go-tos, even if her predictions are more often wrong than they are right.
-- What does come natural to her, however, is fashion. With a good eye for aesthetics and a voracious reader of fashion magazines, Amber has a good sense of style and has lately began trying her hand at sketching her own designs in her spare time. -- Like most girls of her station, she speaks polite French and can passably play the piano.
SUMMER OF 1868 | September Estelle is born the third child to Peter and Rose Lynch, following twin siblings born two years before. A finicky infant, Amber was a bit of a demanding babe in her early years of life and thrived on attention.

SUMMER OF 1869 | Having several small children under the age of three hadn't seemed to deter her parents any, and little sister January, joined the family in July.

YEAR OF 1871 | In a fit of rage after he'd broken one of her favorite dolls, Amber exhibits her first act of magic by setting her brother's toy broomstick on fire. While she and August had never seen eye to eye to begin with, they had become even more at odds after this incident.

(LATE) WINTER OF 1872 | A fifth and final child - another sister - is born named October, officially squashing her brother's and parents' hope of having another boy in the house. Old enough to properly register this birth finally, Amber had taken a keen interest in her youngest sister, though more as a playing doll of sorts rather than a small human!

YEAR OF 1873 | Deemed old enough to join her elder siblings in lessons, Amber proceeded to spend the better part of six years taking lessons with their family tutor and being instructed in the more feminine pursuits by her mother. Without a propensity for learning but a need to please her parents, Amber was merely an average pupil academically, her performance depending on her interest in (and her patience with) the subject at the time.

YEAR OF 1877 | The family decides to relocate to the ever-growing village of Hogsmeade, settling in a large but modest home in Bartonburg. Amber hadn't been too keen on the move at first, having found it difficult to leave her childhood home behind, but had soon grown to like the new one. At least she had her own room!

AUTUMN OF 1878 | The twins went off to Hogwarts, both getting sorted into Gryffindor, respectively. Rather jealous, Amber's only consolation had been the fact that her turn was next year.

SEPTEMBER 1879 - MAY 1880 | Armed with a trunk full of school supplies - including a 10 1/3" wood wand comprised of Hornbeam and Dragon Heartstring - and a feline Persian she'd named Duchess, Amber joined her siblings at school, the sorting hat barely touching the top of her head before declaring her a Gryffindor. A social creature and concerned with fitting in, the first few weeks had been a whirlwind of classes and trying to find her niche. Eventually, she felt that she'd settled in nicely with Leisure Sports and Astronomy clubs, and dropped the others.

SEPTEMBER 1880 - MAY 1881 | Second year saw January join her siblings at school, also getting sorted into Gryffindor. She tried to be an attentive older sister, including January in her friend group and ensuring she settled in nicely, but given their different natures - Amber being more socially aggressive, and January a little shy and soft-spoken - the attempt served to perhaps make her sister more wary than anything else.

SEPTEMBER 1881 - MAY 1882 | Having always held an interest in Divination due to her mother's (very) slight Seeing ability, her interest soon grew into a full-blown obsession after her first Divination class in third year. Believing that perhaps, she too, had long-dormant Seer capabilities that she had yet to discover, Amber had been committed to drawing them out through various methods of predicting the future - namely tea leaf readings, tarot cards, and palmistry. Sadly, most of her predictions were more often wrong than they were true, but that still hadn't stopped her from hoping. She had also taken up Muggle Studies, though that was more because she hadn't wanted to come across as a slacker for only taking one elective than due to any real interest in the subject.

SEPTEMBER 1882 - MAY 1883 | The year Amber became a woman. Beliving this to be a sign to start putting away childish things, Amber stored anything that was considered "childlike" in a chest under her bed and began wearing corsets and putting more stock into etiquette lessons.

SEPTEMBER 1883 - MAY 1884 |Although she had done her best, Amber had never been a particularly motivated student to begin with, which her OWL scores had duly reflected.

SUMMER OF 1884 | Due to a bit of unlucky timing, Amber and her brother had found themselves stranded outside of Hogsmeade during the village-wide quarantine. Fortunately for them, Uncle Reming lived in the area and was willing to take them in. Having always been fond of her uncle (his occupation, especially, fascinated her!), Amber was fine with this arrangement, but less fun was having to be in such close proximity to August for weeks on end. Needless to say, Amber was sure their uncle hadn't been at all sad to see them go once the time came.

SEPTEMBER 1884 - MAY 1885 | The youngest Lynch child starts Hogwarts, surprising everyone by not ending up in Gryffindor as expected, but rather in Slytherin instead. Which Amber privately thought was a good thing; there wasn't so much expectation to live up to.

Amber continued her NEWT studies with Astronomy, Charms, DADA, Divination, and Transfiguration.

SUMMER 1885 | The end of May saw the twins graduate, and Febs debut into society - though with the cancellation of the Hogwarts Coming Out Ball, her sister hadn't had the most auspicious of starts to her first Season.

SEPTEMBER 1885 - MAY 1886 | Amber's enjoyment of her final year was marred by the news of August's disappearance just after the holidays. While she and August were always seemingly at each other's throats, she would never want anything serious to happen to her brother - or any of her siblings, really. Despite this, however, life continued on for the Lynch family, and Amber sat her NEWTs and graduated at the end of May.

SUMMER OF 1886 | Although the leads on her brother's whereabouts were looking bleaker and bleaker and home without August just wasn't the same, Amber had been determined to try and enjoy her first Season. Unlike her sister, Amber did have the benefit of attending the Hogwarts Coming Out Ball, which she suspected gave her a smoother transition into society life, but even so, excepting a few flirtations here and a couple of fleeting potentials there, the Season had ended in naught.

SUMMER OF 1887 | August was found on July 17th, 1887, almost a full year and a half after his disappearance. He remembered nothing of their family - or even the magical world, in general - and there was some concern that he'd never fully regain his memory, but at least he was home safe and sound. Privately, Amber hoped that this would give her and August a chance to build a more positive relationship.

PRESENT | Yet another Season marred, this time by strangely magical fog enveloping whole villages and rumors circulating of her eldest sister's questionable morals. Gossip was fun until her family got involved, and Amber had tried not to feed into others' curiosity surrounding her sister and Mr. Umbridge, not knowing much herself. Though now that they had eloped officially as of September 1888, it was going to be a little more difficult to fend off the rumors.

-- Amber's eldest sister, February, eloped with Head Auror, Edric Umbridge, in September of 1888, after falling victim to the amortentia letter scandal.
-- Her brother, August, disappeared for a year and a half before being found in July 1887, with no recollection of his past life in Hogsmeade.
