    History

Harrison Bennet Shaw grew up in a moderate cottage in Tinworth by the sea along with his younger brother Clarence and his parents Hortence and Willhimena, a school teacher and homemaker respectively. Their father was strict, but they were allowed to enjoy their childhood and were taught to love nature, especially the ocean. At Hogwarts Harrison was quickly sorted into Slytherin and spent the next seven years excelling academically. He always had the brain while his brother seemed to get all the attention from other students. It was just as well though, he enjoyed his studies and had dreams of becoming a professor one day. Upon graduating he put his plans on hold and returned home to Tinworth to help care for his ailing father while his younger brother finished his education. It was a long and slow sickness and both Harrison and his mother were forced to take jobs to keep up the house and medical bills. Three years later his father did pass away and it was decided that the cottage would be sold and that would give her enough money to live out her time in a small apartment in the newly founded town of Hogsmeade. Once she was comfortable, Harrison took an opportunity to study further in America where he stayed for three more years. Half of the third year was spent exploring with his brother who had just gotten a job as a dragonologist in the states. Enjoying the time with his brother, he ended up accepting a job offer from Ilvermorny teaching Care of Magical Creature and Transconfiguation so he could stay close. He loved it and for six years it was a charmed life on top of Mount Greylock in the far less restrictive industrial revolution era of America. But all good things must come to an end and new chapters need to be started. Harrison’s mother became ill last winter and as soon as a position at Hogwarts became available he took it. Now, in his first year back since being a professor he is starting his life back again in a place that seems so familiar and yet so foreign.
