Did you know?

The Language of the Flowers was a popular method to express feelings where words might be improper, but did you know other means of doing so? Some ladies used their parasols, as well as their fans, gloves, and hankies to flirt with a gentleman (or alternatively, tell them to shove it!). — Bree

WANTED:

Ester Montgomery for Thomas Montgomery. The one that got away (with the pornographer...)
This boy, then. He wasn't new. Wasn't one of the worst people in the common room, those rotten rich boys - like Mr. Jailkeeper - who could not fathom a world beyond their own farts. Was a good working class lad, so he'd heard. Had a bit of a weird looking face, and a bit of a weird thing for preaching. Still.

HISTORY
[1863] - Clifford if born.
[1874] - He starts Hogwarts and is sorted into Ravenclaw. He gets closer with kids from other purist families, which pleases his parents.
[1876] - As an OWLs student, Clifford choses Care of Magical Creatures and Divination as elective subjects.
[1878] - Elinor puts family to shame by mingling with a black muggleborn. She even wants to marry that mudblood. Parents give her an ultimatum, and she chooses poorly. As the result, Elinor is disowned.
[1879] - Clifford passes his OWLs with relatively good grades and later that year choses Potions, Herbology, Charms, Transfiguration, and Astronomy as his NEWTs, as some of these classes are important for becoming a healer, which is his dream job.
[1880] - The Church of Magical Jesus catches Clifford’s attention. Its teachings seem right, and its followers are nice. So he decides to give this church a closer look.
Clifford decides not to explain the Church’s principles to his parents just yet, afraid they might not be impressed, especially considering their recent ultimatum.
[1881] - Clifford graduates from Hogwarts, his grades good enough to start his training as a healer. As he delves deeper into the Church’s teachings, he grows more and more distant from his purist school friends.
[1882] - After almost a year of training, Clifford gets a job at Creature-Induced Injuries department at Hogsmeade Hospital and is very enthusiastic about it.
[1883] - His job causes some conflict between Clifford and some of his more radical friends, as he not only saves muggleborn lives on a monthly basis, but is also proud of it. Talks about doctor’s duty have mixed success.
[1884] - Alexander Goyle dies during the Laughing Plague. Although the death saddens Clifford, he also sees this as an opportunity to reconnect with his sister, whom he writes about the tragedy. He had time to reevaluate the whole disowning and ultimatum, and now feels sympathetic towards her. Soon they start correspondence, which Clifford keeps in secret.
Later this year, he moves into his own residence in Bartonburg, Hogsmeade.
[1886] - Now financially independent, Clifford gives debutantes a first look, mostly to compare the options to family’s expectations. Unfortunately, it proved impossible to find anyone his mother and brother would accept and whom he could share a mutual respect with.
Elinor’s estrangement seemed even less reasonable to him now.
[1887] - The first time Clifford’s patient dies, an old man severely clawed by a hippogriff. Although there was little a healer could do at that point, Clifford feels guilty. It all adds up. Guilt for keeping so many secrets from his family, guilt for not being able to cut the ties to his purist past, guilt for not trying to reunite Elinor with the rest of the Goyles, and now guild for letting a man die.
With such burdens, Clifford comes closer and closer to doing something reckless in hope to clear his conscience, although there is no way for others to see this inner struggle.
YOU LIKELY KNOW...
Clifford is a purist. [Not actually true.]
YOU MIGHT KNOW...
He is a follower of the Church of Magical Jesus.
YOU DON'T KNOW...
He keeps contact with his disowned sister Elinor.

Edited: I totally misread "disinclined to follow" as following. Edited now.

The lake was a terrifying sight, and despite Clifford's expertise could potentially help to determine its threat, he stayed behind, letting braver expeditioners go first. As soon as he heard a cracking branch, however, he regretted his decision. Instinctively, Clifford reached for his wand but stopped mid-action. His magic was of no help now.
