Did you know?
The Language of the Flowers was a popular method to express feelings where words might be improper, but did you know other means of doing so? Some ladies used their parasols, as well as their fans, gloves, and hankies to flirt with a gentleman (or alternatively, tell them to shove it!). — Bree ( Submit your own)

APPEARANCE
Carius is decidedly average for his age, lacking any striking features that may make his face more memorable than others'. He stands at four feet, seven inches tall, and has a thin build. He inherited his mother's dark hair and dark eyes (as opposed to his fahter's lighter hair and blue eyes), and has light skin.
Carius is young enough to where his style of dress is not yet his own, and as such he wears the stiff, high-quality muggle clothes his mother wishes for him to wear. He writes with his right hand.
PERSONALITY
Easygoing. Resourceful. Mindful. Judgmental. Humble. Open-minded. Well-mannered. A little insecure.
OTHER
SKILLS & MISC. INFO❧ He's fairly decent on a broomstick for his age.
❧ Like most other UC boys his age, he speaks fluent French and has been learning to read Latin.
HISTORY
1877 | Carius Bulstrode is born the firstborn son to Florian and Carina Bulstrode in what proved to be an exceedingly easier birth than Carina's first. Mirroring his mother in appearance, he's given the name Carius — the masculine form of his mother Carina's. While not a particularly difficult child to manage, his first year of life is fraught with the death of his grandfather and tension between the muggle and magical world, which ultimately leads his parents to withdraw deep into the heart of magical London.
1881 | His first sign of magic appears after his fourth birthday — or so he swears. With no one around to witness the event, he's left doubtful of his own abilities, which in turn leads his parents to doubt there was really a sign of magic at all. All attempts to duplicate the results prove futile.
1882 | He finally produces a sign of magic that everyone can see, but it's also one that sees intervention by the Accidental Magic Reversal Squad. After growing frustrated with his nanny who was intent on stopping in a boring muggle corner shop, he accidentally knocks over an entire bookcase after stomping his foot.
1885 | Carius' "Uncle" Cassian (whose really more like a cousin due to their closeness in age) begins Hogwarts, marking the beginning of his amounting anxiety about being able to attend Hogwarts. Despite the evidence that's proven he is a wizard, the dreading feeling that his Hogwarts letter won't arrive remains.
1887 | Narcissa begins Hogwarts and is sorted into Slytherin. Carius really wishes he could join her, but instead spends much of his time moping around the house.
1888 | Carius anxiously awaits for his sister to return home for the summer, partly because it will mean that it isn't too long until he gets to return to Hogwarts with her.

CARIUS IS OPEN FOR NEW THREADS.
❧ I value communication over anything else, as a lack of communication breeds (unwanted) tension! As such, if you wish for a certain outcome you can't reach without me or my character cooperating, please let me know! I can generally find ways for my characters to reach certain points while keeping true to their personalities.
CARIUS IS OPEN FOR NEW PLOTS
❧ I prefer faster-paced threads, as some of my character's plot-lines move quickly enough to where the outcome may make no difference if it takes too long. I tend to respond quickly; if you feel I'm taking too long, don't hesitate to nudge me!
❧ I generally prefer organic development to pre-plotting, except, of course, in the case of plottable adoptables and other plots that have a needed outcome.
❧ My post length varies based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: length of post I'm given to work with, muse for the character, and plot-importance.
❧ Concerning mature threads, I'm perfectly alright with swearing and violence, though will write smut only if it's required to further character or plot development.
❧ I'm perfectly fine with basic god-modding actions (i.e. your character leading mine somewhere, touches, etc.), but prefer control in most other situations. If you have a question, just ask! I won't bite ;)
❧ Unless important for plot development, I generally prefer not to be in basic meet-and-greet threads. If conversation between characters turn idle, I'm prone to creating sinkholes. Seriously.

Carius had still not accepted his newfound house, feeling absolutely adamant that some mistake had been made. He was supposed to be in Slytherin alongside literally everyone else - his sister, his parents, many of his extended relatives, and not to mention Sirius Black, one of the only boys he was friendly with. But no, he was sharing a common room with Miss Claire Bénet, the self-proclaimed adventurer, who believed she'd done no wrong by running off on Darrow's expedition during the summer, and a handful of other hotheads.
He'd came with his own broomstick, of course, as many of the other boys had done so. He was put off by the number of ladies who'd showed up at Gryffindor quidditch, though he thought he shouldn't be surprised - their captain was some oddity of a woman, standing taller than most men. (Was he being too judgmental? He supposed he might at least try to think nicely of his house-mates.) When time for trials came, Carius took hold of one of the beater's bats and headed towards the skies. He was small compared to his house-mates (and, regrettably, even compared to some of the other first year boys), so becoming a beater was an unlikely outcome; however, that wouldn't stop him from at least trying. |
