Did you know?

The Language of the Flowers was a popular method to express feelings where words might be improper, but did you know other means of doing so? Some ladies used their parasols, as well as their fans, gloves, and hankies to flirt with a gentleman (or alternatively, tell them to shove it!). — Bree

WANTED:

Ester Montgomery for Thomas Montgomery. The one that got away (with the pornographer...)
This boy, then. He wasn't new. Wasn't one of the worst people in the common room, those rotten rich boys - like Mr. Jailkeeper - who could not fathom a world beyond their own farts. Was a good working class lad, so he'd heard. Had a bit of a weird looking face, and a bit of a weird thing for preaching. Still.

PERSONALITY
Extravert: Being in a public role is something that she would not mind achieving, if it is something that her future husband allows. Getting multiple things done at once makes her feel more secure in her surroundings, and she does like to get things done.

Sensor: Details come to her easily, and she likes to focus on said details when working through a problem, adding bits and pieces together rather than taking everything on at once. Working at a steady pace is much easier than leaving a subject matter, to come back to it later. Once she gets her goal in mind, she likes to get such goal done quickly.

Thinker: Tending to speak before considering the feelings of others, she does tend to come across as a bit cold. Though she has improved much since childhood, and often knows when to shut her mouth. Valuing honesty, she thinks that lying is a cowards way out of situations, and she is no coward.

Judger: Responsibility is quite important to her, especially as the oldest of her sisters, and feeling the need to look out for them whenever she is able to do so. Having a set schedule in place for her day tends to put her mind at ease, rather than worry about what needs to get done.
OTHER
Amortentia: Her favorite perfume and the smell of lilies.

Patronus: A rabbit (this was a shock to her)

Boggart: Typically one of her sisters, lying dead on the ground. Though it’s sometimes her father whose dead, or yelling at her, stating that she is a blood traitor.

Star Sign: Libra

Hobbies: Playing the violin (her favorite instrument), reading (favorite reading material is history), horseback riding, and being a slightly overbearing big sister (don’t need those two to go getting into trouble).

Pets: She has an owl named Marcus and a horse named Snow.
HISTORY
1868: Odette is born, followed by Mireille.

1869: She gets a sister, who is named Naeva.

1875: Odette shows her first signs of magic by making a paper rabbit come to life and hop around the room. It is a very proud moment in the family.

1877: Mama goes into early labor due to being attacked in the streets of London. She and their brother both die at home. Her last wishes are for Odette and her sisters get a full education, as she never finished school herself. The family flees to Hogsmeade, and the wet nurse that had held their brother in her arms when he died was never seen again. Odette has no clue what happened to that lady, and had never even met her.

1880: The proud moment of the Hogwarts letter arriving. It is a moment that is truly cherished. Odette's father gives her the honor of having a wand passed down through the family for generations, containing a basilisk skin, in honor of her being the first born. She and Mireille are both in Slytherin. Their father will never know how long it took before the hat had placed her in the house of the snakes.

Summer, 1881: On a united front, the sisters request that their father make a small change in all of their names, adding their mother's name as a second name. He is proud that his daughters wish to honor the memory of his beloved wife, and allows the change, though it is not a legal change, but one they typically use when saying their full name.

1881: Another year brings their little sister into Hogwarts. Another Slytherin, which is a thing to be celebrated.

Summer, 1883: Their maternal aunt, Manon, uses an Unforgivable curse on Odette's twin for her fascination of muggle fashion. Manon is disowned by the whole family. She disappears. Odette is upset by the abuse to her twin. The events that happened to her sister are unknown to the public, but her aunt is labelled as a disappointment to the family. The family do not wish for society to know that there is a criminal that shares their blood, as it would be too shameful in their eyes. Unknown to everyone aside from their father, he had killed Manon discreetly.

1884-1885: OWLs Year. Tests are evil.

1885-1886: Their little sister experiences the torture known as OWLs.

1886-1887: NEWTs prove to also be evil.

1887: The twins have entered the Roses. It is the last school year for Naeva. The vile half-breeds are finally kicked out of the school. If only the Headmaster would do so for the muggleborns. Sadly, the ban does not last long.

August 2, 1888: The morning after returning from the Fogsmeade Expedition, Odette convinces her father to allow her and her twin to debut from the Pendergast Rose school. This is in hopes to prove herself to be superior to her twin. With any luck, she will have a husband before the next season is over.
YOU LIKELY KNOW...
  • Odette has attended Pendergast Rose school since graduating Hogwarts.

  • Her twin is a bit troublesome.

  • She, her twin, and their father had been on the Fogsmeade expedition. Odette was the only one that remained for the whole time.
YOU MIGHT KNOW...
  • She recently left Pendergast Rose after having requested such a leave from her father.

  • Along with her siblings, she has only been placed in the school as part of her mother's dying wish of seeing the girls fully educated. Odette will proudly tell this to anyone that is a willing listener.
YOU DON'T KNOW...
  • She's beginning to really dislike her father, and has recently lost respect for him. She doesn't let that show or influence how she acts.

Plot Preferences: Personally, I love making plots. I like planning things out. However, I'm also willing to plan things out, to then ditch the plan completely if the muse takes me and those I thread with in another direction. My characters tend to do as they please, leaving me wondering what on earth I just typed. Trying to make them do something that they will not naturally do seems strange, and won't work the way that the plan was supposed to.

"Mature" content does not bother me in threads. Language, violence, dark content, and even smut don't bother me (though if we are gonna do smut, there has got to be a good reason for it happening at all). However I'm not comfortable doing these things if it would not be something that my character would do, and/or if it is not for plot development.

For me, I like to try to type as much as my muse will allow. Typically I try to match with the other poster, if not posting more. I do not expect anyone to have to match my post word count if their muse does not call for it.

Once again her father had shown that he was not worthy of the respect that she had been showing him. Still, she didn't allow it to show... though the hints of a frown were beginning to show on her lips. Yes, her patience was being tested. An unfair test. One where the questions were designed only for her to fail.

This is what he thought of her. Acting as if she was making mistakes that were only in his mind. Mistakes that were made by her twin. "<b>I understand. I also understand that I have not stepped near the river. I understand that you refuse to see the bridge that is mine. There may be burns from those who would dare to try to stop me from becoming who I am meant to be, but it stands strong still. I am the woman you say that I am not. The woman who will be a proper wife, mother, and citizen.</b>"

He seemed to forget that she was stubborn as well. While she was far more ladylike regarding such things, of course. But she was still stubborn. Though her tone was neutral still, there was a hint of such stubbornness. "<b>Let me prove myself. I request for my twin and I to finally leave the Roses, to begin our searches for husbands. To participate in society.</b>" It seemed to be the last hope she had for the day.</div>
