Did you know?

The Language of the Flowers was a popular method to express feelings where words might be improper, but did you know other means of doing so? Some ladies used their parasols, as well as their fans, gloves, and hankies to flirt with a gentleman (or alternatively, tell them to shove it!). — Bree

WANTED:

Ester Montgomery for Thomas Montgomery. The one that got away (with the pornographer...)
This boy, then. He wasn't new. Wasn't one of the worst people in the common room, those rotten rich boys - like Mr. Jailkeeper - who could not fathom a world beyond their own farts. Was a good working class lad, so he'd heard. Had a bit of a weird looking face, and a bit of a weird thing for preaching. Still.

PB ~ Lizzie Greene

PERSONALITY
Extravert: Seeming to always have high energy, she gets lots of energy with the more people that she’s around. Getting easily distracted by things around her when she is interested.

Intuitive: Constantly, she is drawn towards creative ideas, rather than practical ones. Bursts of energy are the most she’s able to work with at a time.

Feeler: Without even trying, she comes off as friendly to others in a heartbeat. Always trying to brighten other people’s days, she enjoys having fun and helping others when they need it.

Perceiver: Playful should have been her second middle name, since even in a slightly down mood, she is typically up to have some fun. Work is not her friend, and it takes a lot of energy to get her to get any of such things done, but it helps if a friend is encouraging her.
OTHER
Amortentia: Momma’s perfume.

Patronus:Unknown

Boggart: A winged tiger growling with blood dripping from its mouth, looking as though it is about to attack her.

Star Sign: Capricorn

Hobbies: Mischief making, learning about Greek mythology, learning about fire related spells, adventure.

Pets: A cat named Nyx, named after the Greek Goddess of night.
HISTORY
1874: Hestia’s older siblings, Artemis and Apollo, are born. They are the oldest siblings.

1875: Hestia is born.

1880: Her brother, Hades, is born.

1885: The twins start at Hogwarts.

1886: Hestia shows signs of magic by accidentally setting part of the carpet on fire when she was reading about the Goddess that she was named after. Her parents are relieved, as having thought that she was a squib.

Going to Hogwarts, the teachers put her into Hufflepuff. She is very uncomfortable in that house, not feeling right at being placed there. The hat is later found and corrects this, and she is placed in Gryffindor. Now she is truly starting to feel at home.

Having a best friend is fun, and the two tend to get into mischief every now and then.

Summer, 1887: Flying tiger chaos, and Hestia gains a ‘battle scar’. In the hospital, after she has been found and is in the process of healing, she finds out that papa and her little brother is dead. In emotional denial, she doesn’t appear affected, other than being more quiet than usual.

Winter, 1887-1888: Mid-December brings illness to Apollo, who soon ends up in the hospital wing of school. Too weak to be sent home by break, the sisters stay with him. By Christmas, whispers in the wing says that he’s not going to make it. By the first day of the new year, Hestia’s birthday, he is dead. Hestia completely breaks down, the full weight of all of this death hitting her full on.

1888: Hestia has shown signs of improvement, with the help of her best friend. Causing light mischief every now and then. She has been avoiding Artemis for the most part, as she is a constant reminder of Apollo and Hades, as well as their father.
YOU LIKELY KNOW...
  • Her father and two brothers are dead. The most recent is Apollo, who passed away from illness on January 1st, 1888. It was also her birthday.

  • Along with her family, she has a bit of an obsession with Greek and Roman mythology. Though she is mostly into the Greek stories.
YOU MIGHT KNOW...
  • Ever since Apollo's death, Hestia has been avoiding Artemis.

  • Hestia has a scar that she says she got from a flying tiger.

  • At some point the family came from Greece; hence the Greek/Roman themed names. The tradition stands and the language is taught generation to generation. This is more in writing than spoken, since they don’t really have a reason to speak it.
YOU DON'T KNOW...
  • Apollo and Artemis are not actually twins. This is so secret that only Artemis, their mother and late father, and the late Apollo were aware of this. Hestia does not.

  • Her scar is actually from her tripping during the chaos of the Tigerpocalypse. Only her best friend knows this.

Plot Preferences: Personally, I love making plots. I like planning things out. However, I'm also willing to plan things out, to then ditch the plan completely if the muse takes me and those I thread with in another direction. My characters tend to do as they please, leaving me wondering what on earth I just typed. Trying to make them do something that they will not naturally do seems strange, and won't work the way that the plan was supposed to.

"Mature" content does not bother me in threads. Language, violence, dark content, and even smut don't bother me (though if we are gonna do smut, there has got to be a good reason for it happening at all). However I'm not comfortable doing these things if it would not be something that my character would do, and/or if it is not for plot development.

For me, I like to try to type as much as my muse will allow. Typically I try to match with the other poster, if not posting more. I do not expect anyone to have to match my post word count if their muse does not call for it.
